DQ brings back sweet childhood memories each time I pass a curly-q sign. When I was very young my father passed away. To get my mom and I out of the house, my brother-in-law would take us on Sunday drives. We would always make a stop at DQ part of those drives. It cheered us up and we made sweet memories with my 6 nephews who were always ready for an ice cream cone. Thank you.
I love the sweet treats at DQ, so sweet that they melt in your mouth
I think starting the Sweet Deal Meal is a great idea! That way, you can fill-up no matter how hungry you are for a VERY reasonable price with the foods you LOVE! Thanks, DQ!!!
its fufilled idea from dq regarding menu
Dairy Queen to me is an institution:As a child my sister and i would go to movies on saturday and across the street was a DQ-we could not wait to get our ice cream. we grew up poor but always seemed to be abel to get a cone-To this day i still visit the same DQ with my grandson.
Tx DQ
It is a great idea.
I remember taking my children to DQ after school-fond memories. The Sweet Deal Meal makes it affordable for families to make new memories and enjoy great food! Thanks, DQ
i would give anything to have DQ icecream right now!
My deal would be to suggest to my friends that we stop at DQ for our “Dinner and a Movie Night”.
Every summer when I was young my family would take a trip to Pennsylvania and on the way home we would make signs for the other car saying: “stop at DQ!, DQ DQ DQ”. And sure enough my dad would always stop.
My deal is to make sure I stop at DQ for my children whenever we pass one while on a road trip.
as a former employee for 7 years it was a great place to work…
I never gained weight because there was something to do just about every few minutes…and there was the rushes…busy…but the quite times was cool…
I have put my application in so I can work there again part-time.
For all of the hardcore DQ’ers try a nerds blizzard. Its not on the menu but if you bring your own box of nerds and if you get a cool employee the will mix it in. If they do not, no biggie, it is just as easy to do yourself with a spoon. I like a half box to a small cup but you can mix to preference.
For all of you health nut DQ’ers, take your favorite protein bar, chop up your favorite protein bar, chop it up and BAM! You now have had your first of many protein blizzard
Dear Mr. Twist: Thanks for your post! You are not alone with your love of Nerds Blizzards, and I’m sorry we no longer carry them for you!
I sure wish we could recommend your suggestions! Unfortunately, we do not recommend that employees at any DQ restaurant add in items to products that weren’t purchased and sourced by the restaurant itself. This really has everything to do with all the issues with the safety of products served in restaurants, particularly given all the concerns over the past years with peanuts and tomatoes, for example…I know we can all find a number of examples.
Thanks again!
Carolyn Kidder
I know everyone has their favorites but 5 years ago DQ stopped making S’more Galore’s (and I’ve been dying without them ever since) and honestly I don’t understand why Peanut Buster Parfait’s are on the menu compared to S’more Galore’s, (and I’m not the only fan who feels this way). Anyway thanks for listening.
I agree with Sarah!!! The Smores Galore was my favorite (and my best friend’s favorite). We use to always go to Dairy Queen to get them, and then one day I went to order one and I was told it was discontinued!! I about had a heart attack! That was the only ice cream sundae I liked from DQ…hell, it was my favorite ice cream dessert in general! DQ lost this customer when they discontinued it. BRING BACK THE SMORES GALORE!!!!!
I have been a loyal DQ customer for 30 yrs. From the time I was a child, DQ was always our family’s choice for a cool dessert, that was usually the fabulous “crunch cone”. Imagine my dismay, when it was brought to my attention that DQ’s were no longer going to be serving them!! I am totally dissappointed and feel almost betrayed by whomever at DQ decided to stop serving them. And to make matters worse, I haven’t received an answer as to why they are going to be discontinuing them. Although I will still go to DQ, my visits will be cut by two thirds at least. Oh, how I am going to miss the infamous “CRUNCH CONE”.
Oh! I can sure appreciate your disappointment! The Crunch Topping is a product that is available for individual restaurant owners to offer to their customers, however it is not a product that all “DQ” stores and restaurants are required to carry. The reasons vary for why the topping would be disconintued. It may be that there are just a few faithful fans of the topping, but not enough to justify carrying the product when another topping may be more popular. Again, I am so sorry, and I hope this helps a little.
The Dairy Queen advertisement for the Midnight Truffle Blizzard says that I could get one at my local Dairy Queen. I thought it looked delicious. So I went to my local Dairy Queen and guess what?! There was no Midnight Truffle Blizzard!!! They were out! The commercial lies!! I want a Truffle Blizzard!!!!! Dairy Queen, why have you forsaken me?!?!?!
Jose – I am so sorry! The Midnight Truffle Blizzard has been HUGELY popular and we have heard from other customers about stores that cannot keep the product in stock. Please be patient and stop in again at your local DQ restaurant. I am certain they are working hard to bring that product back into their store so they can serve you and other eager Midnight Truffle Blizzard Fans!
Another vote for bringing back the S’more Galore Parfait… I always used to get that before it was discontinued and haven’t gone to DQ much since.
Please consider bringing it back!
I remember some 36 years ago when i was a brownie, our troop would go for a coin walk where the leader would flip a coin and if it landed on heads we would turn one way and tails the other, some how to this day I can not figure out how we always ended up at our local DQ. Great thing now is that I am the manager at that very store.
I loved the S’more Galore Parait. It was the best thing they had on their menu! please please bring it back or just let me know how to make it!!!!!
I have many memories of DQ – like getting cones with my dad and driving around the block repeatedly while we finished our cones before we could go home so mom wouldn’t know. Of course, my dad also knows just about every DQ within 3 states and will tell you which one gives you the biggest, best cones, etc. Crunch cones were always our favorite and its just plain awful that we can’t get them anymore (at least in MN). Any idea what was in the crunch cone mix so we can make it at home?
Hi, Megan! The crunch coating you are referring to is offically referred to as Peanut Brittle Crunch with Sprinkles. It is an available product, but not one that is offered at all Dairy Queen restaurants. That is determined by the independent franchise owner of each DQ restaurant. According to our R&D Department, the Peanut Brittle Crunch is made by a variety of vendors across the country, and it may vary a little depending upon the vendor; in general it is made of crushed peanuts, sugar, and colored sprinkles. I hope this helps! Carolyn
I’m also voting to bring back the S’more Galore! I’m expecting my first child and have been craving one! The problem being that, they no longer exist! Help a pregnant lady out.
I have the best memories of DQ. It was my grandmother’s favorite place and the two of us would often walk to the nearby one after I got out of school. DQ was also my first job, where I learned skills that have translated to my career today. It was where I had my first management position as well.
My grandmother passed away in September. Before she passed away I took her to the local DQ for ice creams together. She told that she was all set now, she’d had her Dairy Queen and she could die a happy lady. In the coming years I’ll be able to take my daughter (and my mother will take her granddaughter) to enjoy an ice cream from DQ and share stories about my grandma.
Thank you for the feedback regarding your favorite Blizzard Treat flavor! I really was touched by your story about you and your grandmother.
Smores galore!!! Will this ever be back?!?!
THANK GOD I FOUND YOU PEOPLE. I have been lost without the smore galore as well… and all i want to kno is if Dairy Queen will EVER serve them again. Thats my only question.
Desperately craving the Smores Galore Parfait!!! It’s been too long, I want to say almost 9 years, since I visited a DQ with the Smores Galore Parfait on the menu. PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!!
Oh! I am sorry — the S’more Galore Parfait has been discontinued for years and I don’t know of any plans to bring it back. You aren’t alone, as you can see! I’ll make sure our product development team knows we have a passionate fan who contacted us via our Blog!
Meghan — I am sorry! I think you may be right on the time frame…it has been a very long time. At this time I do not know of any plans to bring the S’more Galore Parfait back, or for any similar product to enter our product line. I’ll ensure our product development team knows we have some passionate fans!
I feel the same way about the Hot Fudge Brownie Delight….
Bring back the Nerds Blizzard PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
Wow! That’s a blast from the past — nearly 10 years ago. I don’t know of any current plans to bring the Nerds Blizzard back. I am sorry! I’ll make sure our Product Development team is aware you’d like this flavor back in DQ restaurants.
The Nerds Blizzard was all I had to live for, and my life has been a continuing downward spiral since it was discontinued. Please, if you value the life of this downtrodden soul, find a way to return this singular panacea to your institution.
Good News is it looks like you have survived since we discontinued many years ago! I would recomend trying another flavor like Oreo is a classic or even M&M’s. Bad News, we are not looking at brining it back. Sorry!
Bring back the Nerd Blizzard
NERDS BLIZZARD!!! It’s something so simple. Just make the deal with Willy Wonka! I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.
Please bring back the nerds blizzard, I am so sad its gone!
I love the crunch topping….i know of a couple stores in my state that carry it, and I stop for a chocolate cone with crunch topping every time I am near one…please make it a required item in all stores!!!!
I am with everybody on wanting the Smores galore back. I worked there while they had them and you can try to recreate it at home but it will never be the same. They used cocoa fudge and their special marshmallow sauce with crumbled grahmcracker.
I too ate the smores galore while pregnant, my son will be 9 this September. Imagine my horror when baby 2 never got one. Bring it back it was my favorite. A peanut buster is NOT even close. I eat it and all the while am dreaming of the other. So sad.
Thank you for the feedback regarding the crunch topping I will make sure to pass this off to the apprioate people. No Guarantees!
I must say since we launched our Blog, Twitter & Facebook accounts we have found a strong passion for the Smores Galore Blizzard and Cotton Candy Blizzard. I’m sorry to say that neither of these will be coming back this year but I will pass all the feedback regarding the love of this Blizzard on to our brand marketing team!
The cotton candy is the best. I lived in Elgin, Il and every restaurant still has cotton candy. I am moving to Rockford, Il and everytime I have to call my relatives to see how many cotton candy blizzards that I need to bring back with me. I do think that over $10.00 for one blizzard is crazy, but when I know they are limited and could be discontinued; I have no choice but to but the extra large options. If you are not going to be bringing it back for years, is there anyway to order the sauce and the cotton candy pieces. It could be a good selling supermarket-shelf or dairy queen counter item. If there is any way to get a hold of the items, i and probably countless others would be forever in your debt. If not, some free coupons for when they do become available could at least help to hold us over by having something to look forward to. Thanks…
Laurir i am a dairy queen employee and we are NOT getting rid of our crunch cone we wouldnt do such a thing visit us in greenfield indiana
My favorite treat there was the smore galore. I remember coming in every other day just to have one. You should bring it back. I think you would sell those alot more than the peanut buster. The smore galore has more flavor and I don’t see how anyone could get tired of it. I loved it and it was the perfect treat to satisfy my craving. Please bring it back at least for a trial to see if you bring more customers in because of it. I’m sure if you brought it back for one month every year, like you do with the girl scout blizzards, it would be a success.
I must say Jeremy we have some fans out there that just love the cotton candy Blizzard. Thank you for the recomendations I will make sure to pass this off to Research & Development group. As for bringing it back I’m sorry to say that I will not be coming back this year and for right now I’m not sure it will be coming back next year also. Thank you for your passion for Dairy Queen and especially this Blizzard treat!
One of my favorite indulgences is a caramel sundae from DQ. I think the taste and quality of the caramel is top notch. I used to love to get it with the mixed nuts on top. I’m not a huge fan of peanuts so this combination was great because it had such good flavor and really merged the sweet and salty for me. As I understand it, these mixed nuts are no longer available and I ended up with spanish peanuts with their skins on (not a fan). Will the mixed nuts ever come back?
We will look into this for you and get back to you on this!
I think cotton candy blizzards should come back they were the best!
i am going to dairy queen tonight and i dont know what to get what is the best thing i can get!!!!!!
i am asking the web master this question what is the best thing you can get!!!!
I grew up working at the dq along with two of my sisters. It was very much a family run business. One of my greatest memories was when you passed with your report card you were able to show it at the store and receive a free small cone. I wonder if they still do that? The owner also treated his employees very well with pool parties, Christmas dinners, and good pay!
I just don’t understand why the most popular items get discontinued?? I worked at DQ and know that the smores galore was WAY more popular than the peanut buster parfait. PBP are just nasty with those spanish peanuts with skins. ewwww.
And the royal chocolate pb crunch sundaes…they were awesome!!
And the old fashioned sodas. mmmm.
I could go on and on. The treats back in the 80′s and 90′s are soooo much better than todays DQ choices. I’m not impressed at all with what’s offered now. I love dq soft serve, so when I get a hankerin’ for dq, i stick with my old trusty standby…the butterscotch dip cone. So please don’t kill me and discontinue the butterscotch dip cones.
It should would be nice if DQ actually listened to their customers instead of discontinuing everything good. I’m curious how they decide what gets discontinued and what stays. It can’t be lack of interest. The smores galore was probably the greatest addition to the DQ menu since the blizzard was introduced. I can’t tell you how many times I’d go to DQ and order a smores parfait and be told they were out of ingredients. I then would drive to various other DQ stores until I found one that could give me what I want. That doesn’t sound like lack of interest to me.
And to be totally honest, the way DQ keeps raising their prices so high, I will not go very often at all since they no longer have what I really want. I’d go daily if they had my smores!!
Hi, Ladonna: We’re so glad to hear from a DQ Alum!
I have some favorites that have been discontinued as well — and it IS disappointing. I belive my favorite that was discontinued, the Hot Fudge Brownie Delight, was out about the same time as the S’more Galore Parfait.
Products are generally discontinued because they don’t sell as well as others. There may be pockets of serious fans, and sometimes the products can stay on as a regional favorite in some stores, but discontinued elsewhere. Othertimes, while there are passionate fans, there just aren’t enough of them to keep the product moving out of the warehouses and into (and out of) the stores. Sometimes, it’s because there are other products that need to be introduced, because of public demand and trends, and a business decision has to be made.
I hope this helps a little!
I really think DQ needs to go back to it’s roots. I don’t get excited over DQ much these days. It’s hard to get excited when your favorites are constantly being discontinued. Is there even a thing called the Mister Misty freeze anymore?
As a consumer, DQ should listen. Trends come and go. Your die hard fans ride out the trends. It’s only fitting that we be heard. Even if you can’t bring a certain item back for good, what’s wrong with a limited time offering??
P.s. Your hot fudge brownie delight might not be on the menu anymore, but I believe you have the ingredients on hand to still make them.
So you have not only discontinued nerds and smores galore, but you discontinued cotton candy… permanetly? Not even a monthly release?
Nerds was my favorite, and cotton candy was on the top of my list.
Recommend oreo or m&m? You can get a oreo or m&m blizzard anywhere. DQ, Sonic, A&W, McD’s. Heck, you can just buy half-gallon oreo or m&m ice cream at the store for less than what the blizzard costs.
What made blizzards from DQ so special was the variety. I can get a m&m and oreo blizzard anywhere. I couldn’t get cotton candy or nerds anywhere.
Don’t forget that there is a whole world of ice cream lovers who aren’t interested in chocolate overload. We like our sweet and tangy stuff.
Well, at least you still got an occassional kit-kat blizzard
LaDonna — thanks for your comments! “Mr. Misty” is still around — it’s just called “Arctic Rush” now. The Freezes aren’t around any more, apparently there weren’t many of us who really liked them. I sure did! However, you may find that your local restaurant will make one for you if you make a special request to the staff. Flavors and products do come back as limited time offerings; the Cotton Candy Blizzard and the Brownie Batter Blizzard are perfect examples of this.
We are listening!
I think dairy queen should have a month where they bring back “the good ones”. you all ready have monthly blizzard flavors. why not try this out instead?
are the oreo blizzards REALLY oreo? when i worked at dq they were hydrox…ewwwwww.
Whatever happened to the big cookies they used to carry? They were in the freezer with the cakes and they came in a pizza box. We used to buy them for friends’ birthdays in college.
i luv dairy queen so much. my all time favorite is the cotton candy blizzard. i die for those they are the best! but when they stop selling them i was really disappointed. i was waiting for months for it to come back. but i was just always disappointed. i would be the happiest person on earth if you sell the cotton candy blizard for at least one month that would be really cool. i would by 10 of them. so if you are planning to bring back the cotton candy blizzard please email. and you would be surprised on how many people luv the cotton candy blizzard. think about that.
bring back the cotton candy blizzard! go to some fan websites and look. and want to know something that I know and you dont. did you know that there is a WEBSITE all about cotton candy blizzard. its like a fan website for cotton candy blizzard. see how many people go there? like about 1000 or more. please here our voices. go to the fan website and look please. but just type in dairy queen cotton candy fan club. i will be shocked how people there are. so please bring it back for at least a month. smore galore and cotton candy together (not litarilly) but bring them both back on the same month! smore galore and cotton candy will make BIG money. i promise you, you will not regret it.
Hi, LaDonna! Yes they are REALLY Oreo ™ cookies. There was a time when both Oreo and Hydrox were carried; it is only Oreo now. Thanks for asking!
Hi, Sue! Those were our Treatzza Pizzas! They were really yummy, weren’t they? At this time, they’ve been discontinued and I don’t know of any plans for their return. Thanks for letting us know how much you liked them!
Ah, Liz! I am sorry that we’ve discontinued your favorite flavor — and I know there are others who love it too! It was a limited time offering each time it was offered; and while I know of no current plans to bring the flavor back, one never knows what will happen in the future. Thank you for your passionate support of Dairy Queen and Blizzards!
I love DQ, but why is there no more butterscotch for Dilly bars and dipped cones?… I’m heart broken.
I am sorry, Katrina! I cannot tell where you are writing from, so I’m sorry if there’s info here that doesn’t pertain to you. The Butterscotch Cone Dip is no longer available in Canada, and it has been discontinued system-wide there. In the U.S., the decision to carry Butterscotch Cone Dip is made at each independently owned and operated Dairy Queen store and restaurant. It may be that a location has such little demand for the product that it makes more sense to carry other products that are in much more demand. I hope this answer helps.
omg, if the butterscotch cone dip is ever discontinued altogether, i’ll never go to dq again.
When I was a kid my favorite blizzard was the Grape Koolaid Explosion! I know this one wont ever come back (I work at a DQ/OJ in kansas) Also one of my favorites (i forget the name is was kinda recent i think it was two years ago) was a blizzard that had chocolate covered peanuts! That one was amazing and people loved it. But people would be really surprised of the number of choices of blizzards there are. Most DQ’s list only 10 blizzards which are the most popular when we have a very wide selection! I advise people to ask their local DQ on what blizzards they have that people dont order much that sounds good (like the cappuccino heath or caramel waffle crisp!)
Good idea! Thanks for the advice, KansasDQ!
Wait, wait…You discontinued the Cotton Candy Blizzard? That’s awful. I’ve been checking the Dairy Queen website EVERY MONTH THIS YEAR just to see if it will come back, and now I find out it won’t? That’s terrible. And I really do not enjoy most of the other flavors, so I really don’t have any reason to go to Dairy Queen anymore.
Like, seriously, I LOVE those things. I promised myself that when they came back, I’d get two every Friday of that month (Don’t worry, I run three miles every day, so I won’t gain any weight, lol).
darn.
Sorry Zach! Check back in 2010, and you may find some Blizzard flavors that could become your new favorite and keep you coming back to DQ!
I loved the treatzza pizza and would only be allowed to get one for my brithday. I also fell in love with the cotton candy blizzard. So much so that I had the local DQ make me a cotton candy blizzard cake. Sooooo Tasty!
And I never had this smore galor, but it sounds delish!
Bring back the *Nerd blizzard* i used to go to DQ almost everyday just to have my fix of a nerd blizzard but havent been back since they discontinued it and they are all over the place here in washington. I have even tried to make my own and not the same not even close
Sorry DJ I don’t know of any current plans to bring the Nerds Blizzard back. I am sorry! I’ll make sure our Product Development team is aware you’d like this flavor back in DQ restaurants
i love cotton candy please bring it back and make it the june blizzard of the month please I love that flavor
Bella, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Cotton Candy Blizzard will not be the Blizzard of the month in June.
Please bring back Butterscotch Sundaes! I can’t believe I will have to live the rest of my life without them:-(
Please bring back the term “brazier.” I always thought it was a neat term that set DQ apart from its competitors. I know that brazier is not immediately understood by the consumer like “Hot Eats Cool Treats” or “Grill and Chill” are, but people can do what I did – ask somebody what brazier means or look it up (with the internet, looking things up has never been easier). It seems like DQ gave in to the “dumbing down” of America.
Although there are many delicious treats at DQ (oreo blizzards and brownie earthquakes are my favs) there is one that I hope makes a comeback this year – The Smore Galore Parfait. Even just a limited run like McDonalds does for the McRib
I have to agree.. The S’more Galore™ Parfait was GREAT!! i went to order one one day shortly after they discontinued and was upset.. i loved them. that was the only reason i went there. hopefully they bring it back REAL SOON!!!!!!
Sorry to say Erin right now there are no plans to bring the S’more Galore Parfait back.
I agree. Listen to your customers! The S’more Galore was the best treat at DQ. I will not be happy until you bring back the S’more Galore!!!!!!
Please! I can’t bear to go another year without the S’more Galore! It was soooo delicious!! Please bring it back in 2010 even if it’s just for a limited time!!!!
Lauren, at this time the S’more Galore is a discontinued product and currently there are no plans to bring it back.
Emily, at this time the S’more Galore is a discontinued product and currently there are no plans to bring it back.
BEST ICE CREAM EVER!!!!!! THANKS DQ!!!!!!!
We were just discussing how much we miss the Nerd Blizzards. The Nerd Blizzard is our favorite and we wish it would be brought back (even for a limited time)!!
WHY IS THE COTTON CANDY BLIZZARD DISCONTINUED> > IT WAS THE SINGLE GREATEST THING ON EARTH> > I HAVENT BEEN BACK T DQ SINCE
Nicholas, it was a Blizzard that did awesome the first year we released it and then the second year it didn’t do very well.
Please bring back the Nerds Blizzard. I went in to DQ today specifically because I had a craving for one and was incredibly disappointed that it was off the menu, and my DQ had been serving them up to at least a year ago.
I’m the same age as the Blizzard and the Nerds is the only flavor I ever got, for as long as I can remember.
I looked over the other selections that were available and all the flavors were, sadly, boring, standard fare. I tried the Oreo Cookie Jar instead but the ingredients were stale and the taste was lacking.
I used to get Nerds Blizzards all the time, and a hot meal from DQ to go with it. With the poor flavor selection you have now, I might as well just go to McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, or Friendlys and get the same types of treats, only at a better price.
By discontinuing so many popular flavors, it seems DQ is out of touch with their customers, which is a shame, and a poor trait in this economy.
my first experience at dq was in cederburg wi when i was practicing driving with my impatient father he was constantly like a growly bear i decided driving to the cedarburg wi dq and getting blizzards there would make him chill out there.
i am more of the orea m&m and snicker girl and adult dairy queen customer when i was a little kid under 5 yrs old i was handed a swirl vanilla and chocolate twist cone at dq i bit thw buttom of the cone first since i didn’t know any better than and icecream flew onto my ma and pa there and my older brother was laughing at this back up in cedarburg wi.
now i go to the one in bnsp fl everytime i have a appt in that area since their blizzards are the best there in the bnsp fl area
Why don’t you bring back the Nerds Blizzard (my personal favorite and oh how I miss it) and Cotton Candy Blizzard as “Blizzard of the Month” flavors? Then all of us loyal fans can at least get our fix one month a year and DQ doesn’t have commit to having the product year-round. Same for the Smores Galore Pafait, one I’ve never tried but sounds delicious. Why not make it a special available for a limited time once or twice a year? It works for McDonalds McRibs!
I will not go back to any dairy queen unless I hear that they brought back cotton candy blizzards again! I am a grandmother that loves these and I got my daughters and grandchildren all hooked on them. I cannot understand a company that has a great product and then stops it. ITs just like McDonalds and their McRibb. It only makes the people that enjoy them, not want to come back. I have not been back to any Dairy Queen since they discontinued the cotton candy blizzard. BAD WAY TO REPAY LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!!!!
Oh, Betty! I am so sorry you feel this way. The Cotton Candy Blizzard returned as a limited time offering over several years. I can tell you that while there are some passionate fans out there for this flavor, it did not sell well at all the last time it was offered. While I cannot say it will never come back, it does not appear likley any time soon.
Oh PLEASE bring back the cotton candy blizzard! FYI Cotton Candy Lovers: If you go to the DQ website, you can email them with a request for the Cotton Candy. When I emailed I got back a response saying, obviously, that is it discontinued for now, but that they are keeping track of how many people request to have it back and looking into it. YESSSSS! Anyhoo.. Any new developments? What is the lineup for this summer? Cotton Candy is May sounds fantastic!
Sorry to inform you that Cotton Candy is not on our Calendar for 2010!
Are you going to bring back the nerds blizzard?
Please bring back the smores galore parfait. I miss it dearly….
Another Crunch Cone fan here. Is there any website I can check to see which stores DO carry the Crunch Cones?
Hi, Rochelle! I am sorry. We don’t have a listing of the DQ stores and restaurants that carry Crunch Cones. You can visit our website, dq.com and use our locator to obtain the phone numbers of the locations nearest you. I wish we could be more help!
Hi. I was a huge fan of the old fashioned sodas! What happened to them? I know it’s been about 10 years since Iv had one! I would love to have another one!
Tiffany, boy! There aren’t very many DQ stores or restaurants that even have the recipes for the old fashioned sodas. They were offered at many stores and restaurants early in the history of DQ, however they are no longer on our menu. Thanks for the memories!
Is there any way that I can buy the Cotton Candy Pieces? We do not have a DQ near us. And we went to the 2 DQ’s about an hour and a hour&half from us and neither one had the Cotton Candy Blizzard.
Please let me know. Thanks
Katie — I am sorry! The Cotton Candy Blizzard is not currently available, and I know of no plans for its return. Additionaly, the products used as ingredients in th Cotton Candy Blizzard were proprietary and for use only in licensed Dairy Queen stores and restaurants.
Does Dairy Queen still carry the Hawain and Georia mudd fudge blizzards? Please tell me they still do…please
does any stores still sever the treatzza pizza. they were the best but i havent got one in years.
Please make the S’more Galore Parfait a limited time offering so that I can have another one! It was absolutely fantastic. I’ve been telling my wife about those for years because she never had one when they were around. I miss them so much! Everytime I go to DQ, I look for the S’more Galore Parfait and am disappointed everytime. Please bring it back at least temporarily.
Paul, I am sorry! I know of no plans to bring the S’mor Galore Parfait back at this time. I am sure it was delicious, and I am sorry that it isn’t available now for you. I can tell you that our product development team is always reviewing our product offerings, past and present. One never knows when this product, or one similar will come back!
What can I do to get DQ to reconsider bringing back the cotton candy blizzard. By far the best blizzard they make and I am not the only one who thinks so!!!! Without it I might not even go to DQ this summer. I am VERY disappointed!!!
Sorry at this time we are not planning to bring them back for 2010.
Please bring back the Banana Pudding Blizzard! It rocked!
please bring back the s’mores galore or do a blizzard version!
I really loved your Nerds Blizzards…. I think they should make a return!! My local DQ still whips em up if i bring stuff in but it is not the same as when you guys made em!!
I am pregnant and have been craving a nerds blizzard! I was so dissapointed to find out that you are no longer making them! I really think these need to make a return!
My locations here in fredericton NB, still carry all blizzards except nerds and cotton candy, hawaain and georgia mudd fudge as well. There all ver popular, it is the 25th aniv of the blizzard so come in and check out some old favorites that have never really left, but are back on the menu.
Our DQ said that DQ no longer serves baby cones. Is this a corporate-wide change or just the individual franchasee’s decision?
What happened to butterscotch sundaes? I went to 3 stores in different towns trying to get one and they said they are discontinued! Why?
Please bring back butterscotch!
I am sorry, Jeanne! Butterscotch sundae topping has been discontinued here in the U.S. I know there are many fans out there, and at the same time we do not sell enough of the topping to continue carrying it in DQ stores and restaurants.
I stopped going to DQ when they stopped serving butterscotch dip. When are you bringing it back ? what happened to the butterscotch dilly bar ?
Ken, I am sorry that we have discontinued a flavor that you like so much. The butterscotch dip has been discontinued across Canada, and it may still be available at DQ stores and restaurants across the U.S. It is not a required flavor, and so not all restaurants will carry it. I really enjoy the Butterscotch Dilly Bars too! If your local DQ store or restaurant makes their Dilly Bars, and carries the butterscotch dip, they will have the Butterscotch Dilly Bars. We also offer manufactured Dilly Bars for those restaurants that do not or cannot make their own Dilly Bars, and those are available in a variety of flavors, including the Butterscotch. Butterscotch sundae topping has been disconintued in the U.S. however is still available in Canada; again it is not a required flavor so not all restaurants in Canada will carry it. I hope this helps a little bit!
I was shocked to learn today, you no longer offer butterscotch malts. I had to settle for caramel, not the same, caramel is for apples not malts. Good grief, we need to hear from Warren Buffett about this.
I’m so sad! My favorite sundae is a DQ “Dixie Belle” made of hot fudge and butterscotch and pecans. I can’t believe you’d discontinue the butterscotch
OMG, what happened to CRUNCH COAT??? This was the only reason I went to DQ… guiltily over other “mom and pop” local ice cream places. Now it’s gone. WHY??? Please bring it back!!!
I quit going to DQ when they stopped making Nerds Blizzards. There’s not a DQ near me, but a 45-minute drive would bring me to one of the closest three. We would make a “DQ Dash” at least once a week.
This is for Sue, a fellow Crunch Coat lover. http://www.crunchcoat.com/ I like to order and then BYOCC to the DQ!
This is for Diane and Sue — please know that IDQ discourages the staff at DQ stores and restaurants from adding product that was not purchased by the store or restaurant to any of the treats. Diane, that info you posted will be a great treat for folks who cannot find the Crunch Coat.
Carolyn – I didn’t intend to imply that the DQ staff was assembling my Crunch cones. I get my cones to go and dip them in my BYO Crunch Coat in the car.
how do i make the s’more galore if i know my people at our dq could make it for me
chicken basket w/gravy rocks
The S’more Galore Parfait was the best dessert I ever tasted. Period. I would go get one at least once a week at the DQ on Camp Lejeune when I was stationed there. I think you guys should seriously consider bringing it back. Do it for the troops!!
WHY DID DQ DISCONTINUE THE TREATZZA PIZZA IN THE US? I remember they were always sold out so I was just shocked it had been discontinued. My husband and I both loved the treatzza pizza and crunch cones. However we can still get the crunch cones in Kansas.
Who did you purchase your butterscotch topping from? I would like to purchase a gallon from them.
I have not been to DQ since you removed the butterscotch dipped cones and dilly bars, I cannot eat your chocolate, so this is a crying shame as my whole family likes the butterscotch dilly bars and dipped cones, please please bring it back, or at least have one or two stores carrying it.
COTTON CANDY BLIZZARD needs to come back!!!! nothing compares!!!!
When I was growing up on the 90′s I remember my father would take me to DQ to eat and I would order a dipped butterscotch cone. It is truly one of my most missed childhood foods. Does anyone know where to buy the butterscotch topping?
Richard, if you live in the U.S. you should still be able to find locations that carry the butterscotch dip for the cones. It is an available product, but not required. I can get them here in MN. if you are in Canada, the butterscotch dip has been discontinued. I hope this helps!
I doubt DQ is going to let this post, but if you type in – cotton candy topping- in any search engine you will find several sites that carry it. I have no idea if its the exact same as they use in their ice cream ,but its darn good
The Nelson, British Columbia DQ is just a ice cream store, there are no burgers. It closes for the winter and there is no indoor seating area. This is not a complaint. It has been that way since I was a kid and I would hate to see it change. The opening day each spring is a huge tradition and celebration in my family. What I want to know is how many D
Hi, Loralee — not sure I understand what your question is — I think the text was cut off. Would you please write again?
Please bring back the cotton candy blizzard! i love that blizzard so much and now i cant find it anymore and i miss very much so please BRING IT BACK!
PLEASE,PLEASE PLEASE bring back the S’more Galore. I would get at least one every week. I pass Dairy Queen every day and I so badly want it to be back on the menu.
What do you mean butterscotch sundaes are no more???? Butterscotch sundaes have been my favorite reason for visiting DQ since I was a child. Until you bring the butterscotch back, I no longer have a reason for visiting Dairy Queen.
PLEASE bring back the Smores galore parfait!!!!!!!!
I can’t believe that people are talking about bringing back cotton candy blizzards when there is a much more delicious treat that has disappeared from the DQ menu. Of course I am talking about the Treatzza Pizza. I realize that this item has been off the menu for a while but sometimes late at night when I close my eyes I can still taste it. Please bring back this cool treat. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Oh, I loved the Treatzza Pizzas too! At this time I know of no plans to bring this product back, and I’ll be sure to pass your comments along.
hi can you please please please answer a question about nerds blizzard? is there any way they can still make it sense it was just nerds? not much of an ingredient they still make Nerds! Also can I please please take a closed box of rainbow nerds to make a blizzard in the store? thanks
So sorry but we no longer carry the Nerds Blizzard and we can only use in store ingredients.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who mourns the loss of certain Dairy Queen products. Sometimes I think the company is out to get me, because it has (mostly) discontinued my three favorites: Nerds Blzzard, Butterscotch Dip and Butterscotch Sundae. I hope you will reconsider someday, DQ, especially in light of all the comments here
i am from canada and am wondering why there is no longer butterscotch topping for DQ sundaes? I have tried many flavours and believe this is one of DQ’s best sundae toppings. I tried ordering it today, but instead the lady at DQ gave caramel instead.. sigh.. Is butterscotch officially no longer available throughout dairy queen’s in canada ?
i am from canada.. Is butterscotch topping officially no longer available throughout dairy queen’s in canada ?
I WANT A TREATZA PIZZA NOW!!!!!!! BRING THEM BACK ASAP! YUM!
im from canada.. is the butterscotch topping still available here?
im from canada.. is the butterscotch otpping for sudnaes still available here?
I really miss the COTTON CANDY Blizzard!!!!!
Butterscotch sundae topping has been discontinued in DQ stores and restaurants in the United States, and it is available but not a required product in DQ stores and restaurants in Canada. Butterscotch cone coating has been discontinued in DQ stores and restaurants in Canada, and it is available but not a required product in DQ stores and restaurants in the United States.
I hope this helps!
I am very disappointed that DQ has ceased using butterscotch for sundaies and malts (my favorite). I am wondering why that was done? I have enjoyed them since before 1963!
This is insane, I was told the same thing when I ordered a butterscotch sundae and the employee told me I could have caramel because they are the SAME!!! If they were the SAME they wouldn’t have 2 different names. BRING BACK BUTTERSCOTCH!!!!!
PLEEEEAASSSEEE make an ORIGINAL BIRTHDAY CAKE BLIZZARD!!!! With real cake pieces, sprinkles and icing! ~Thanks!
I think Dairy Queen should have an OATMEAL COOKIE BLIZZARD. MMMMMMMMM GOOD!!!
Count me among those that want butterscotch topping returned to your DQ stores. I, too, loved the butterscotch malts and had one at least once a week when our local DQ was open (spring thru fall). Can you at least tell us where we can buy the butterscotch?
I discovered today when I visited our brand new DQ here in Richmond Hill, GA that ya’ll no longer have butterscotch! We drove all the way to get the sundae and left having purchased NOTHING. We won’t be back. We used to visit the DQ a couple of times a week years ago when it was here before…we’d order lots of things including the butterscotch sundae. No interest in visiting if I can’t get my favorite. Please email me if you change your mind. Thanks.
How about a wedding cake blizzard? YUMMMMM!
I am very disappointed that you are no longer serving the butterscotch topping. PLEASE bring it back!!!
BRING BACK BUTTERSCOTCH!!!!!
Recently I ordered my favorite butterscotch malt at my local DQ (like I do every week) and was told that DQ no longer allows them to carry this flavor. This is crazy!!! How can DQ eliminate a flavor that has been a standard since the 1960′s??? Thank God other ice cream stores in my area still carry it. DQ will continue losing my business until they bring butterscotch malts back.
This is an outrage! Viva Butterscotch!
Please bring back the butterscotch!!!!!!
I’ve been getting butterscotch sundaes since I can remember. 30+ years! I have no other reason now to go to DQ
Jenni, I am so sorry that we’ve discontinued your favorite topping!
Does anyone remember the Coca-Cola fiasco when they changed their recipe? Public outcry! Hence Coca-Cola classic. Are there any opinion polls done before making these poor decisions? Bring back the butterscotch!!!
I am sorry, Dena V! We do remember, and I love the butterscotch topping too. At this time there are no plans to change the decision, and I am truly sorry we discontinued a topping you loved so much.
Please bring back the cotton cany cakes and blizzards!!!
Please bring back the cotton candy cakes and blizzards!!!
What a stupid idea. I went to get a butterscotch sundae and found out there was none. Im just glad other places (non-DQ) still carry it in Albuquerque, NM. DQ has lost my money.
Keith, I am so sorry we discontinued a topping you loved so much. I do hope you will reconsider in the future and give us another opportunity serve you again.
I wish Dairy Queen would bring back the COTTON CANDY BLIZZARD, like the rest of your customers! That was the only blizzard I absolutely loved. I only went there for that blizzard. My mom is a frequent customer too. PLEASE BRING THE COTTON CANDY BLIZZARD BACK! I used to go to Dairy Queen 4 times a week literally or more to get this blizzard! YOU HAVE TO BRING IT BACK!
I am so disappointed to find out that you are not doing the cotton candy blizzard at all this year. I love it, and its my favorite. Why are you not doing it this year??????
Carolyn,
I have been a long time fan of the DQ Butterscotch Dip Cones and haven’t gotten the chance to enjoy one in a very long time. Can you tell me which DQ’s still sell them in my area-Prosper, Tx?
I miss the cotton candy blizzard! Since it was discontinued I have been spending my money elsewhere because Dairy Queen’s blizzard flavors as of lately are BORING!!
I am very dissapointed about the butterscotch flavor being unavailable now! I sure hope you never discontinue marshmallow!
I was at a DQ today and had a mini blizzard. It was the perfect size!! I am wondering if this is a size you will keep on the menu? Happy Birthday Blizzard.
Why do DQs in Texas only have vanilla ice cream and chocolate dip? We want chocolate ice cream and cherry & caramel dip! Also, is there a website or something that tells what kind of ice cream and dip is available at all the locations? Going to DQs around the country I’ve found it to be completely random – for instance, DQs in Colorado have vanilla, chocolate, and twist ice cream, and chocolate, cherry, and caramel dip. However, ones in Wyoming don’t have caramel dip. Why the randomness?
i like others will not give any of my business to Dairy Queen until you all Bring back butterscotch.
I would love if DQ could somehow create a way we could buy our blizzard by the gallon or by the quart!! I would love to be able to just go to my freezer and serve me a bowl of my favorite, Pecan Turtle Crunch with pie pieces! I call it my Turtle Crunch Pie!! Love it!!
Hi, Shannon! There are a number of products, like chocolate soft serve, and cherry and butterscotch dip toppings, that are available for DQ stores and restaurants to carry, however they are not required to do so.
Hi. The only DQ treat I’ve ever liked is the Cotton Candy Blizzard. PLEASE bring it back.
I saw a Dairy Queen commercial about helping children with disfigurements by buying a Blizzard on 8/5/10. Are all DQ’s participating in this day and how much of the cost of the Blizzard goes to helping disfigured childred?
Long Live Cotton Candy!!!! What happened to the AMAZING blizzard!!! I would pay $20.00 for just a taste becuz it was so good. Now all I have is the flavor of ice cream which isn’t as good as the blizzard. At least you could blend the ice cream. And I mean how could you get rid of butterscotch????? It’s a classic!!!
I love your Cotton Candy Blizzard! Really wish you’d bring it back! If only for the summer time!? Please?! Preety please with Cotton Candy sprinkles on top? Oh yah, and bring back butterscotch!
Optional topping?? I only order Butterscotch malts. The family orders all sort of varieties. Wont take family there if I can’t get what I want. Can’t understand why they wont do Butterscotch topping but will do Butterscotch Dilly Bars?!?!?! BRING BACK BUTTERSCOTCH!!!!!
Wow. Here I thought I was all alone on this Butterscotch issue. I went to DQ last week to get treats for the family, and came home with a Blizzard for my wife and a box of Dilly Bars for the rest of us, since upon arrival I found out that our local DQ no longer has Butterscotch as a toping or flavoring for shakes. WOW. Talk about PO’d. My wife couldn’t believe how irritated I was. I now feel vindicated.
BRING BACK BUTTERSCOTCH.
Until then those of you that are craving butterscotch should see if your local DQ will do what ours did back in the day and put the topping into a milkshake and blend it up into a butterscotch -chip shake. It’s the next best thing.
-Phil
The mini-blizard, what a joke…. I cannot believe my cousin paid $2.29 for that… DQ get your prices right, that is worth more like a dilly bar price… not even a buster bar size…..
I think whoever does your ads should be fired! What kind of crap are you telling our young people? Driving like maniacs along side of a moving DQ blizzard van, an adult on the hood of a car trying to catch the back of the van ( and what is she going to do if she catches it? )tied to the hood with tie straps or being very immature while eating a blizzard. I think whoever okayed these ads should be severly repremanded for the type of image he is portraying on behalf of DQ.
Larry, I am sorry we’ve so disappointed you! I will ensure your comments are forwarded to our marketing team for their information.
No more butterscotch??! Why? Bring back the butterscotch topping, and please stop telling me that “caramel’s almost the same.”
@Molly D — I know! I love Butterscotch topping too. I am sorry that we have discontinued a flavor you love so much. I will ensure your concerns are forwarded to our product development team for their future consideration.
i just recentely looked at ur webpage on facebook nd am not very happy with it as i scrolld down to see pictures i noticed the first picture was of a young woman in a bathing suit taking a picture of herself that picture was next to your other pictures of little kids eating at local dq i do not think that is very family appropriate
I would like to know how to submit a new idea for a DQ treat. I work at DQ and I have a wonderful idea which I shared with other employees and they loved it. Some even said they would order it most everyday and that they wished it was a menu item. It is really cool and refreshing. Please let me know who I would need to talk with. Thanks Mary G.
Tammy, we work hard to review our facebook pages and ensure all is appropriate. I will look again in a few minutes. Thank you for letting us know!
Mandy, I am happy to hear you have a great idea to share with us!

i gotta say and i mean it yall have the best popcorn chicken by far the best ive ever tasted and i love chicken more than any thing and it was worth the long wait that was delicous i will definitly come back i would give that chef a raise if i could
I think that you should bring back the Nerds blizzard. All the ‘candy’ blizzards are chocolate based and for someone who doesn’t like chocolate, I could always go to DQ to get a Nerds blizzard.
I remember as a kid being so excited to go to DQ and get a Nerds Blizzard. However, since DQ no longer makes that blizzard, I have to make it at home. The ice cream used by DQ is by far the best I have had. I would love for DQ to bring back the Nerds Blizzard.
I agree! I really loved the nerds blizzards! I have tried to make them myself but they aren’t as good!
If everybody loves the Nerd blizzard so much, why don’t they bring it back already?! Can I just take a box of nerds and have them blend it for me instead?
I had to ask the other day if they had nerds in the off chance that they actually did somewhere and they just didn’t have it up on the board. The lady looked at me like I was crazy. “We’ve never had nerds.” I probably had my fist nerds blizzard before she was born. Anyhow, I too am a fan and would appreciate not having to settle for a different flavor.
BRING BACK THE NERDS BLIZZARD!! It was a childhood favorite of mine and it would be a nice change from the usual chocolate based candy blizzards!! =)
Nerds Blizzard was the first blizzard I had and still my favorite. Bring it back! sweet and sour -yum!!!!
Mr. Michael Keller (Chief Brand Officer)
I like many others only have one desire to see a return of the Nerds blizzard. Since you have no plans to bring it back can we at least get an explanation for why it was discontinued.
Poor demand? supplier conflict?
Why, I need to know why the greatest blizzard ever imagined is no longer available.
Why???????????
BRING BACK BUTTERSCOTCH I LOVE YOUR BUTTERSCOTCH CARAMEL IS NOT NEAR AS GOOD AS BUTTERSCOTCH. YOU HAVE LOST A LOT OF BUSINESS FROM ME AND MY COWORKERS.I WAS SO UPSET WHEN I HEARD THAT YOU DC’D
BUTTERSCOTCH. IT WAS MY FAVORITE DESSERT. YOU COULDNT BUY BUTTERSCOTCH THAT WAS GOOD AS DAIRY QUEEN. IS THERE ANY WAY TO BUY IT? WHAT BRAND WAS IT?
S’MORE GALORE PARFAIT!!! hot fudge, marshmellow cream and graham crackers … HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG?! I vote we bring it back! Nobody knows what I’m talking about when I say “I don’t want the peanut butter buster, I want the S’MORE GALOREEEE!” But I guarantee if it was brought back sales wouod go up! What kid (and kids at heart) doesn’t like s’mores?
I agree, what good is a butter pecan sundae without BUTTERSCOTCH. PLEASE.
I really want a Treatzza Pizza! They were my favorite when I was a kid and I could only get them on special occasions. I know my friends would love them, too and I would like to surprise them with one. Is there any way that you could start making them again? They were my favorite childhood treat.
I really hate your stupid dolphin guitar commercial. You really need to hire new advertisers. How much money did you waste on this?
I am utterly disappointed that you have discontinued butterscotch cone coating. I have been a loyal DQ’er since its inception in Canada. I see no further need to go to Dairy Queen as most of the rest of the products are available elsewhere. Let me know when you bring it back and I will resume my patronage.
I have to agree that the dolphin commercial is the stupidest thing I have seen in years. Get some talent.
Oh DQ Please bring back the Chocolate Crunch Parfait!! PLEASE!! this was my favorite when I was a kid and I still asked to see if they could make it at my local DQ but they never do
I would totally go to DQ more if you Brought it back!! I know others loved it too!
I know we only get 6 buy 1 blizzard get 1 free but do you think we should get am extra one for getting 3 MILLION of the BEST FANS EVER!!!!!(if you say no I understand it maybe breaking the rules and 3 million is a lot of people)
From the BLIZZARD’S GREATEST FAN DAVID
Are we going to get March’s Blizzard coupon ?
Dear Dairy Queen,
Please bring back the cotton candy blizzard! It is by far the best dessert ever to be created. I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you so much!
Hi Sherry, Please contact our consumer relations team at http://tiny.cc/3uv19 so that we may address your concerns. Thank you!
The DQ Dolphin commercial is so stupid that I consider this as a insult to my intelligence.
With this type of crap advertising, I won’t even consider going to DQ for anything !!!
Who was the idiot at DQ Corporate that approved this type of commercial ???
I simply cannot fathom the logic behind the decision to discontinue BUTTERSCOTCH!! What the heck? Thank goodness there is another “local” ice cream shop in Loveland, CO that serves soft serve. they now receive our business
S’mores Galore!!!!!!!!! Please bring it back!!!!!!
Nice to read about all the fav flavours and treats we love to remember from DQ. I’m old enough to remember “Scrumpdillicious!” and back when a Dilly bar was ten cents. (pretty old eh!?)
I don’t frequent DQ much anymore….oh, the occasional hot fudge with peanuts sundae, but that’s it. There are so many competing businesses out there, but….here’s my question. In the face of that very competition, wouldn’t it make good business sense to bring back some of the old favourites (Nerds, Butterscotch, S’mores etc.,) to help DQ win back some of its former fans? You know, ‘build it and they will come’? Because I’m sure you’d rather have customers in your store than the other guys’. Something to ponder perhaps…..
Regards!
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sharon! I would love to see some old favorites make a come back as well, Butterscotch in particular. I was heart broken when it was discontinued. Apparently, I wasn’t going to DQ often enough.
If you’d like to visit our consumer relations page and give them your thoughts, that would be great! Here’s the link for you. http://tiny.cc/3uv19 Thank you and best regards!
I just watned to say that I would love to see frozen yogurt served at DQ! My family and I would have dessert there more often! It would make a great choice for the healthier side of life! Thanks
Your new choice of TV advertising is not really the finest choice. I find myself turning down the volume when ever they are shown. What was wrong with your iconic talking lips?
Hey all! I loved the NERDS blizzards so much and was sooooo sad to see them go! However let me let you in on a little secret! You can still enjoy your very own nerds blizzard! All you have to do is bring a box of nerds to Dairy Queen and find a cool employee to mix it in for you! WALLA, your very own nerds blizzard!! I also like to ask the employees to mix together all sorts of different ingredients to make a SUPER PRIVATE blizzard ONLY for me!! YAY!!
BRING BACK THE SMORES GALORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smore Galore! That sounds great! Good suggestion Natalie!!
I love DQ. Peanut buster parfaits are my favorite. I also love blizzards.I have comment about the new commercials, they are strange I really like the old ones with the lips.
GOLDEN OREO BLIZZARD PLEASE. WHY IS IT GONE
Bring back the Nerds Blizzard! I won’t go back until they get it. I used to get it all of the time even after they took it off the menu they still carried it. I try every now and again and they don’t have it so I leave.
Dear Nerd Blizzard Lovers,
We too are beyond devastated that DQ refuses to bring back the Nerd Blizzard. It was without a doubt the greatest creation known to man. We have had countless nights craving for that sweet and tangy combination of vanilla ice cream mixed with Nerds candy. Where can one find a solution to this insolvable craving now that DQ has ripped it from our hearts? At last, we have come to desperate measures. We now are forced to buy our own Nerds candy from gas stations and a Vanilla Dish (comprised of joyous soft serve) and yes, mix our own combination. As tedious as this task may be, we are semi-fulfilled for our long-awaited craving.
With the deepest measure of our hearts, we hope that someone (ahem, DQ) will find a way to bring back this uniquely satisfying blizzard that so many have missed.
Bring back the Smores Galore! I worked at DQ when they were released and that right there was heaven on earth….such great memories serving them up. To see the look on people’s faces when I handed them across the counter….priceless.
I REALLY, REALLY DO NOT like the new ads – they are not amusing, informative or any such thing. I mute the TV and leave when the shaving bunnies, revolving pants and fencers are on. In fact, I find the ads somewhat creepy!
Hello Darlene,
I am truly sorry that our commercial has upset you and that we have disappointed you.
You are right; the commercial is goofy, even ridiculous. The point of the commercial is to show that DQ food and treats are better than good, they are riDQulous.
I’m very upset that DQ has discontinued the butterscotch sundae topping. Not all ice cream shops have butterscotch topping, that’s why DQ WAS special and a good place to go to. Now it’s gone, so DQ has hot fudge, strawberry, caramel. . .big deal . . .so does McDonald’s and their sundaes are way cheaper. I’m also tried of getting blizzards that don’t have hardly any of the blendin items in them. I got a pecan cluster blizzard (since they didn’t have butterscotch sundaes) they didn’t even put any caramel in it. Sadly, I think I’m done with DQ.
(
Please bring back a non-chocolate flavored CANDY blizzard! Only FOUR of your 25 regular blizzard flavors don’t have chocolate in them!
Not a single candy blizzard with no chocolate! Please give us chocolate haters some love and give us a *real* candy flavored blizzard. My personal favorite has always been the Nerds Blizzard!
I completely understand your disappointment, butterscotch was my favorite as well. Unfortunately, it wasn’t selling very well. We do keep track of the comments we receive regarding our current and past products, and will ensure your comments are documented and forwarded to our product development team for their future consideration. I’m sorry to hear about your recent disappointing visit to DQ. I would most definitely let the management of the store know about it. You can also contact us here, http://tiny.cc/3uv19 and we will forward your comments for you.Thank you!
Bring back smores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please please please bring back the cotton candy blizzard. I can’t keep going years between its release. The first year it came out was my jr year of high school in 2003. It would take FOUR years before it came out again in 2007/2008. Now it is 2011 and I think it’s overdue. Please make it permanent. I refuse to go to DQ the years they don’t have it out of protest!
I enjoyed my blizzard yesterday and I thought what wouldn’t I do for one and that made me realize that I noticed that the blizz men YouTube videos are gone , can you bring them back I thought they were funny especially with a blizzard.
From your GREATEST FAN DAVID HERNANDEZ
I concur with Kasey! The cotton candy blizzard is THE best! It’s disappointing that they keep taking it away and I have basically had the same troublesome situation described above. It needs to be apart of the blizzard menu. I have never tasted a better blizzard!
Thank you for contacting DQ. Unfortunately, The Cotton Candy Blizzard is not scheduled to return in 2011, this flavor didn’t sell well the last time it was offered . I do know that our product development team is aware there are passionate Cotton Candy Blizzard Fans like you waiting for its return and we make sure to route all comments regarding limited time offering products to them. Hopefully we will see it again in the future.
I am a die hearted diary queen fan i am originally from orlando florida, i have visited over 25 diary queens total in my life time and by far my best service was on my vacation to the white mountains in New Hampshire. I visited a diary queen restaurant in the town of Glen. My service was exceptional, i got served by the manager Ricado he was so friendly with his greeting not only me but all other guests and had the most pleasant smile. The food was superb and i was served the best banana split blizzard ever. The store exterior was welcoming and the insides were clean and comfy phenomenal job guys. I just had to make this post for all the bloggers who are interested and ever visit that location.
My family and I have an idea (we think a great one)for a new blizzard flavour. Smores- with marshmallow, crumbled graham crackers and cone dip. we love blizzards with cone dip and sometimes add other items. Sounds yummy to me.
That’s wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!
Bring back the S’more Galore. Anyone know how to
Recreate one at home?
I just celebrated my birthday and all i wanted was a treatzza pizza! when do they plan on bringing them back?
Hi Robyn,
Thank you for contacting International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ) with your question about the availability of Treatzza Pizzas. I am sorry to report that, the Treatzza Pizza has been discontinued system-wide and there are no plans to bring them back at this time. I am very sorry to disappoint you like this, and I assure you that I will relay your comments to our product development team. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.
Please bring back the cottoncandy blizzard! That’s my fav. Of all time and I think allot of people want it back so let’s injoy the amazing sweet taste of the cottoncandy blizzard let us have are favorite blizzard back! Please and Thank you
I love DQ but the one thing I have to say, I dont like their franchise owners. The DQ I go to, they do nothing but complain about the specials they are required to run and never accept the coupon.
Then to top it off, I go the other night to find my DQ will no longer be carrying the butterscotch dip. I dont want to say this but I may have to go somewhere else as the menu at my location has dwindled down to nothing. I can go anywhere and get a twist in a cone or a sundae with hot fudge on it but DQ was my place to get something original and it has all been stripped away over the years.
Sincerely,
A former customer =[
I’m so sorry to hear this Danny. Thank you for getting in touch with us. We would greatly appreciate if you would take a moment to contact us here, http://tiny.cc/3uv19, and provide us with the location of your local DQ, so we can address these issues with them. In regard to the butterscotch topping, unfortunately it was discontinued system wide because it wasn’t selling very well. I absolutely feel your pain, I too am a big fan of butterscotch. Thank you again for contacting us.
No more Butterscotch dipped= no more of my families money. So we decided to go to the mom and pop soft serve around the corner…strange they actually gave us customer service and cared about our business, something DQ has lost. Good luck with all those NEW products.
I enjoy getting large TWIST cones (half vanilla, half chocolate) when I visit my family in Northwest Ohio. Why can’t I get them at DQ cones here in the Houston area? The chocolate shell over vanilla just doesn’t cut it for me.
I’m writing this letter to inform you that I will no longer patronize your company. I will instead encourage ALL of my acquaintances to as I do and boycott your company in all fashions. How inept can you be to discontinue butterscotch? You should heed the advice of the people passionate enough to reach out to you and inform you of the terrible mistakes your making. You can get most of your current line up of treats at any one of your competitors. What motivation do we have to patronize you?
The majority of Dairy Queen restaurants are independently owned and operated franchises, so the products that are carried may vary between stores. You would need to contact the owner of a particular store regarding the products they carry. If you would like contact info, here is a link to our DQ locator, http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/store-locator/
I’m definitely unpleased with how we where discriminated yesterday at dairy queen was asked for a driver license bc we had a 50$ bill claimed they write our info down bc of fraud reasons very unsafe to disclose that info to a worker, they have ways to determine a real bill I hope this get taken care of.I will take this up with who I need to
Darleene,
Please contact our consumer relations department at http://tiny.cc/3uv19. Thank you.
I’ve looked for a mint chocolate chip blizzard and haven’t seen one……any chance on getting them in Glasgow, ky?
I am so pleased to see that I’m not alone in my dismay over losing the S’More Galore Parfait. I loved getting one whenever I could as a kid. It broke my heart when I went back to order one and they were discontinued. I’m craving one pretty bad right now actually….
Hi Wendy,
Sorry, nothing on the calendar for this year, but we will pass your comment on to our product development team. We do have a Mint Oreo Blizzard. If that is something you’d be interested in, you could ask your local DQ if they offer it. Hope that helps! Thanks for getting in touch with us!
I have to call shenanigans on the whole “Butterscotch doesn’t sell well enough” bit. I just find that so hard to believe! Maybe I’m biased because I like it so much, but it is such a standard flavor. You have your hot fudge, your strawberry, your butterscotch. Although somewhat similar in flavor, surely butterscotch is more popular than caramel? Maybe it’s just more expensive. Ahhh, a cost-cutting measure. Well, caramel is NO replacement for butterscotch. Not in a million years. Bring. It. Back. Or how bout I don’t come back to DQ, and just buy my own Edy’s Slow Churned Vanilla ice cream, and store-bought butterscotch sauce, and make my own sundaes/malts? Cheaper anyway. Hmph!
I to SO MISS the smores galore parfait. I agree, I don’t know why they took it away versus the peanet buster….also good, but not as good as the smores. PLEASE PLEASE bring it back!!!
Please bring back the Nerds blizzard.
As someone that is allergic to chocolate and nuts, I often felt discriminated against as a kid when it came to dessert venues…. Except at DQ, where I was always able to enjoy my beloved Nerds Blizzard. Now, not only are Nerds Blizzards no longer available, but there really isn’t an alternative for someone with my dietary restrictions. Even my (distant) second choice — a butterscotch sundae — is no longer available! Would love to have a reason to be able to go back to DQ on a hot summer day and be transported to those happy and carefree DQ visits of my childhood. Please, bring back the Nerds Blizzard (or, at the very least, the butterscoth sundae)!
Please bring back the Nerds blizzard!
love ya
Ditto with the Nerds Blizzard!! If you don’t bring it back, can you at least try to introduce a blizzard that mixes your soft serve ice cream with some sort of tangy fruit candy. It was like eating different flavors of dream-sicles in a blizzard. It was my favorite.
YUM – Nerds Blizzard was always my favorite too. Loved it!
Bring back the s’more galore parfait!
WHERE DID THE “Nerds” Blizzard” GO!!!!!!
PLEASE MAKE A COME BACK!! ~ THNAKS, A 90S TEEN!
NERDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angjie – I feel the same way, I LOVED the Nerds Blizzard!! Your fellow 90′s teen, Andrea
It would have been great to have the pumpkin pie blizzard around until after Thanksgiving. My husband thinks that it was the best blizzard he has ever had!
Bring the krunch cone to houston!!!!!! Missing it desperately…
How about a ZAGNUT BLIZZARD !!!!!! What about you other zagnut lovers’ out there?????
The commercials that are now on the TV are so stupid that they really have nothing to do with the product. I for one no longer go to Dairy queen and there are 2 in my area. What ever happened to just a good advetisement of seeing someone enjoy a great burger or the smile a cone of ice cream puts on a childs face or how great a birthday party cake is. A guy riding on top of an add..come on where is your brain?
Please, please market the Crunch Cone nationwide!!! I have asked at so many DQs in California and they look at me like they have no idea. If only they knew how perfect it is. DQ – Do you know how wonderful it is????!!! Perhaps not, because, if you did, you would market that cone like the next great idea. I know we’d show up more often if the Crunch Cone was on the menu here. We recently visited the DQ in Bourbonnais, Illinois… twice within 24 hours because we wanted our Crunch Cone fix. Please take it nationwide. You will sell more ice cream!!!
I’m still craving a S’more Galore Parfait… Those were the best thing to ever grace the menu at DQ. I used to never struggle when ordering cause the answer was always the SGP… but now I actually have to think about it. Please bring it back!
Hi, Steff! I am sorry that the Crunch Cone isn’t available nationwide — it had been very popular in the past, and remains so in a few areas in the U.S. I am delighted to hear how much you enjoy these cones, and I will ensure to relay your comments to our product development team for their future consideration. Thanks for writing!
Thanks for letting us know how much you miss the S’more Galore Parfait — you aren’t alone! I will pass your comments along to our product development team for their future consideration. Thanks for writing!
Please bring back the nerd Blizzard! Definitely my favorite by far. Makes me pass by DQ and head to other establishments. Nerd Blizzard would bring me back. I realize the sample size is rather low, but think of all the people that googled “nerd blizzard” and found this and actually decided to write on it. Please listen to your customers and bring back the nerd blizzard. Please!!
I love dairy queen but I miss the nerds blizzard more than anything. Bring it back for a seasonal period and see how many people like myself want the nerds blizzard back, I represent the voice of thousands of potential buyers, other than that you guys have the best ice creak cakes as well
Several weeks ago I took the grandkids for an ice cream at the DQ in South Daytona, Fl. During the purchase I managed to leave without my debit card, normally this would be a real bad thing. Unless you leave it at that store. They kept it nice and secure. I went back the next day after realizing I had misplaced it. Got it back and am quite happy with the honest and pleasant employee’s and management in the South Daytona store. They serve great ice cream too…..
Bring back the s’more galore! by far the best dessert ever. DQ isnt the same without it
The bubble gum blizzard was THE BEST EVER!!! You guys should have like a “bring back my blizzard” promotion where people can vote on which flavors to bring back.
MY FAV and I can’t get it any more is the Chocolate dipped cone that was rolled in the Peanut Brittle Crunch with Sprinkles topping. I quit going to DQ for a very long time after they discontinued it. They still have yet to get something as good.
Are there any DQ’s in the Houston TX area that still serve Butterscotch shakes or malts?
Hi Colleen,
Unfortunately the butterscotch topping is no longer offered. We do keep track of the comments we receive regarding our current and past products, and will ensure your comments are documented and forwarded to our product development team for their future consideration. Thank you.
S’mores Galore Parfait in 2012?!? Please…begging…
There is obviously a HUGE fan/customer base for this dessert to return to the menu.
Hi Meghan,
We’ll definitely pass along your comments to our product development team. Thank you!
I know you say the requests made here are passed along…. But someone is either not listening or does not care about what customers want!
My personal favorite Nerds Blizzard started being request here in 2009…. Three years ago!
Your customers have spoken. And not everyone likes chocolate. There are hardly any options for a candy mix-in that does not have chocolate.
90′s nostalgia is Really big right now. Some of the unique Blizzard flavors of the 90′s were a HUGE part of your customers childhoods….. CASH IN ON IT!
Your Blizzard options are very boring right now… Other ice cream shops have the same exact flavors. Give the people a reason to come to DQ… Or they will go somewhere else
Bring back the cotton candy blizzard!!!!!!!!
Hi Will, we are sorry for upsetting you. Many of these flavors you’re referring to were limited time offerings, and have been brought back in the past. We assure you that our product development team is aware that passioate fans like you do exist, unfortunately I do not know of any specific plans for the Nerd Blizzard’s return anytime soon. Again, we apologize for disappointing you.
I was enraged the other day when I visited my hometown to stroll to Dairy Queen to get a butterscotch Sunday and they told me they no longer sold them!!!!
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??????????????
I have been eating butterscotch Sundays from Dairy Queen since I was a child and SORRY, but CARAMEL IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE!!!!
Im also sorry that until you bring this item back, I will NEVER spend a dime at a Dairy Queen again!!
DQ lost my business when they discontinued butterscotch topping for my sundaes. I’m consoled to know so many others share my EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT over the loss…but my taste buds are NOT consoled!
Me and my mother always loved to get the Chocolate Rock whenever we went to DQ but they stopped making it! It would be great to have a Chocolate Rock once more…. And also..the DQ we go to makes the worst blizzards…you’re supposed to be able to turn it over without it pouring out, but the ones these employees make are literally like a liquidy milkshake. I’m always disappointed!
I hope you bring back the nerds blizzard, it was my favorite flavor.
Why was it discontinued?
We are so sorry about your Blizzards Shelby. Please contact us at http://tiny.cc/3uv19 so that we may address your concerns. Thank you.
Hi I joined the club last year and do receive my birthday blizzard, but I can’t figure out how to get coupons for a free purchases after buying six. I can’t see where to even log in or how you would know if I bought something. Is there a membership card?
Why did Dairy Queen take the butterscotch Sunday off the menu? That was my favorite thing at the D.Q.
I’m with Will ( few posts up) I’m not a huge chocolate fan, and there just aren’t that many blizzard selections left that don’t involve chocolate. My all time fav. was the Nerds blizzard. Such a great treat! I’ve definitely gone to DQ less since that flavor was discontinued. I’d love to see it make a return!
Back around the year 2000, DQ put out a s’more galore parfait. IT WAS AWESOME! is there anyway that it could be brought back again?
I decided to try something new off the DQ menu, it was the worst decision i ever made. The chicken quesidilla was NOT worth the 4.49 that it cost. By far that was the worst tasting quesidilla I have ever purchased at a fast food establishment. It should be removed from the menu. Long story short I could not tolerate the taste and ended up throwing it away after 1 bite.
We are so sorry to hear that. Please contact us at http://tiny.cc/3uv19 so that we may address your concerns. Thank you.
Hi Chris, unfortunately the Blizzard Fan Club only sends out Buy One Blizzard Get One Free coupons and not buy six get one free. We also do not offer a membership card.
Please check with your local DQ restaurant regarding the those frequent buyer punch cards, as some locations do offer them. Thanks.
I have been a member for quite a few years and this is the first year that I have gone for 7 months and not received a BOGO coupon. Not even on my birthday…. May as well not be a member, see no advantages in it…Thank you
COTTON CANDY BLIZZARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I was really pleased to hear that the proceeds from Blizzard sales were going to the Children’s Miracle Network today. I went in today to buy a few (in spite of the fact that I am continuously disappointed in the quality of their Blizzards – Chocolate Extreme is still vanilla even when you pay for the extras) but when I went in, there was nothing promoting this at all, absolutely nothing. It was very sad and yes it was one that was supposedly taking part in it. I bought the supposed large Chocolate Extreme blizzards anyway, along with a small vanilla for the dog. The people in our town are strong supporters of the Miracle Network and if there had been something there promoting this special day, I bet there would have been a lot more blizzards sold rather than the sundaes, etc. that were chosen by people looking for treats and relief from the heat. Shame on the owners.
Puleeez bring back the butterscotch dipped cone!! It was the best everrr!!
Why did Dairy Queen stop serving Butterscotch topping on their sundae’s? Store bought just doesn’t have the same taste
I think you guys should offer the buy one get one free blizzards or half off at least once a month, I’m very disappointed with the little coupons you guys send out & how long it’s been since a sale on blizzards.
I concur with everyone that requested that the Nerds Blizzard be brought back. It was my favorite as well, and I haven’t had one since I was a kid.
What happened to the butterscotch for dipped cones. This has been my all time fav since I was a little girl 25 years ago. How can you remove something that was a DQ classic. I am so bummed out. If I allowed myself a treat it was the butterscotch dipped cone. The dilly bars are not the same and not sure your even keeping them for much longer. Not happy with DQ.
So I am from Tucson and enjoy a crunch cone, I am in Biloxi MS for a few weeks went to the local DQ ordered a crunch blizzard and they looked at me like I was crazy, what gives…..
Just stopped by dairy queen to get a butterscotch dipped cone and was told they don’t have it anymore. That was all I ever went there for so I will hav to find a place that has it.
Bring back the “old-fashioned” ice cream sodas from the 80′s! They were amazing, but no DQ has them.
Please bring back the NERDS blizzard! It was a favorite of all times. I would promise multiple purchases!!
Nerds blizzard!
Please bring back the s’more blizzard!!!!!
Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for your post. Stay tuned, you may enjoy some new Blizzard flavors we come out with in 2013!
Please bring back the smores galore parfait. I loved it as a child. Me and my grandparents would always have one and share that moment of goodnesss.
Thank you. Sincerely; caitlin.
Hi Caitlin,
Stay tuned, you might enjoy some of our new 2013 flavors!
With the stay tuned comments directed toward those requesting the S’MORE BLIZZARD mean you’re bringing it back in 2013? Because it too was my favorite and I’ve been missing it for a decade. Plus we just barely got a DQ in my new town so that would be perfect timing. My sincere hope is that it is coming back in 2013. Based on the comments, it does seem like it has a strong following.
Hi Marie,
We’ll see…
Hi! I was wondering where I can write to if I have a really good idea for a new DQ sundae?
Hi J.R.-Thanks, feel free to visit our ‘Contact Us’ page on our website at, http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/Company/Contact-Us/. We’d love to hear your idea!
My family has been going to the same Dairy Queen for over 15 years. We have so many memories there, including ordering chocolate cones dipped in chocolate!
However, a few years back they stopped making chocolate ice cream! How can you stop making one of the most popular flavors of ice cream? We asked one of the employees and he said the machine was broken and they would soon repair it. That was over 3 years ago- still no chocolate ice cream! I love my Dairy Queen but it’s not the same without the chocolate ice cream!
Hi Evan,
I am so sorry, however our delicious Chocolate soft serve is not a required DQ product offering. Though quite a few stores do still offer it so I am positive you will be able to find it again. I empathize with your frustration, my local DQ store doesn’t have it either, but I can tell you that our vanilla soft serve with chocolate syrup/hot fudge is delicious and worth a try!
Hi I have a metal token about the size of a silver dollar and stamped on it is the words ” Good for one regular size 5 ounce size Free Sunday or worth 40 cents off the regular price of any royal treat” Can you tell me in what year this promotion ran. I’ve had this for many years but can’t remember how long I’ve had it. Thanks for your help…. Doug
Hi Doug!
Thank you for your comments, the Silver Dollar Sundae Coin is definitely an older promotion. I do not have exact dates for when we started or ended this promotion, but it was sometime in the late 1990′s to the early 2000′s. It looks like you may have had that coin for over ten years! As you may already know, Dairy Queen restaurants throughout the United States and Canada are individually owned and operated franchises. This being the case, decisions regarding store policies, such as participating in coupon offers and national or regional promotions are made by the store operator. You can check with your local store to see if they will still accept the Sundae Coin.
Thanks for your Prompt reply. I’m not looking at getting rid of it. It’s a reminder of gentlier times in life where everything didn’t cost a arm and a leg to buy. As a senior in my 70s it’s a reminder of the many trip I took and still take to my local DQ for a Strawberry Banana split with my Sweetheart of 50 years. Thanks again.
Doug
I’m still missing the nerd blizzard.. If you would bring that one back I would be a happy customer for sure!
Hi Bonita,
I’m so sorry, but I am not aware of any plans to bring this Blizzard back. I know its disappointing, I loved it too!
is there such thing as a caramel dipped cone?
I remember my dad used to get them all the time but I don’t know if they’re on the menu. So good !!!
Hi Brett,
Not that I am aware of, I would think it would take a long time for the caramel to harden. Nevertheless this sounds yummy!
My guess, this was a regional/individual store offering that has been discontinued. Sorry!
I’ve been in search of a DQ in central Texas (Lockhart area) that carries a cherry dip cone and I’ve yet to find one. Its my favorite ice cream treat and I ALWAYS get one whenI go to visit family on the East coast. But iI haven’t been in 4 years. So if there’s any possibility of getting those here that would be amazing!
Hi Kayla,
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately cherry dip isn’t a required menu product. I am so sorry you haven’t been able to find it in your area. My suggestion to you, ask your local stores to start carrying it. It is entirely possible that they may decide to carry this item if they get requests from customers like yourself!
I live in Windsor, Ontario and I’m so sad to find out that DQ has discontinued butterscotch topping for sundaes
I used to live in Barrie, Ontario and one location still has the butterscotch available. I seriously hope they bring the topping back – too many people love it!!!!
Hi Jade,
Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately Butterscotch is no longer a required menu offering in our stores. Though, I love it too! If you ask your local, Windsor store-they might be willing to rethink their decision to discontinue this topping flavor.
several years ago you made a royal treat made with soft serve, fudge, hard chocolate shell topping and almonds. i cant for the life of me remember what it was called but it was my absolute favorite!! any idea?
Hi Tanya,
This treat was called a Chocolate Rock. It was delicious, I loved it too!
Hope this helps!
Bring back the snore galore or ill find out who decided to discontinue it and I will take my steel toed boot and kck them in the back of the knee
I agree, our smore galore product was delicious. Keep your eyes peeled, you may soon see ADQ products that you will enjoy!
DQ customers have been requesting DQ to bring back one of my favorite desserts (the S’More Galore) for the past 4 years!! DQ – are you going to bring it back?
Hi Laura,
I know we aren’t bringing back S’more Galore, however I think you will be pleasantly surprised with our summer Blizzard offerings!
