My favorite was German Chocolate blizzard! Maraschino cherries, chocolate, coconut …
I would like a mocha almond chocolate blizzard. That was my favorite Blue Bell Ice cream flavor that they quit making!

I would like to let everyone know that the BLIZZARD has been around for a lot longer than 25 YEARS. i can remember as far back as at least 33 years back. I believe you are misleading the public in your ADS ABOUT THE 25th aniversity. This is misrepresentation of this product and the integredy of this corporation.

Thanks Lily

@Lily – Nope, no misrepresntation! Thanks for writing so I can help clear things up for you. While we know there were a number of products that were similar to Blizzards offered throughout the Dairy Queen system before 1985 (even a super thick shake offered during the 1950s that was called the Blizzard), we are celebrating the official system launch of the product. At that time the honors went to Sam Temperato of the Dairy Queen of Saint Louis group in Missouri as the driving force behind introducing the Blizzard to the entire Dairy Queen system.

Please put the German Chocolate Blizzard back on the menu. I have had several employees not know how to make it. It tasted bad too. I only order one now if the DQ employee can tell me the ingredients.

@Barb, I am so sorry that the German Chocolate Blizzard has been discontinued! It has been off the menu for quite a long time, and that is likely why few know how to make it. I am so glad to hear you have found a few employees who can still make your favorite treat for you!

I am with Barb on this one! The german chocolate blizzard is the only one I order…thankfully I have never found a place that does not know how to make it! BUT, I can tell the ones who know it best!! Why on earth would you discontinue it, esp. if they can still make it???

I am a huge fan of the German chocolate blizzard and would love to see it back on the menu. I’ve gone to some places where they still make it correctly, but today I was dissapointed with people who had no clue what I was talking about. What a waste of 5 dollars.

What are the ingredients of the German Chocolate Blizzard. It was my favorite but I can’t remember the ingredients. I always ask for chocolate ice cream, wet walnuts, and coconut. Am I missing anything??!!

The German Chocolate Blizzard is not currently on the menu, but when it was, I believe it had vanilla soft serve with chocolate sauce, pecans and coconut.

Hello. I wrote about a week ago and said that I could not access my blizzard coupon when I joined the fan club. I still can not access it and am wondering what I should do in order do get my coupon? I have already visisted the other website that you directed me too.

Hi, Ashley! We did have some technical issues around the time you registered. Our webmaster has assured me that you will see a new email and coupon soon, if you haven’t already.

I joined the blizzard fan club but never received an email after I joined, so that would mean I never got a blizzard coupon. Can someone help me on this?

i was just reading some of the comments on the german chocolate blizzards.they were are favorites and where still able to get it when we went to the odd dq.unfortunately they changed the coconut but it was still good.most the time now the young people will just say we can’t or wont make them.we really have not found any as good.if you would include the recipe so they could make you might be surprised how many you might sell.call it one the real originals thanks don

Bring Back the GERMAN CHOCOLATE Blizzard! Vanilla soft serve, chocolate sauce, pecans, and coconut!!!! I just asked for one last week and got THE worst tasting blizzard ever, there were random ingredients in it… I never thought a blizzard could possibly taste bad until then.

Hi Elizabeth, I’m sorry to hear that. I would recommend getting in touch with the manager of the store you visited, or you may contact us at http://tiny.cc/3uv19 and we will forward your comments for you. Thanks!

My girlfriend loves your blizzards and we go to Dairy Queen all the time so she can get her Crunch Coat Blizzard. I tend to stay away from the Blizzards because I have had all the flavors and they no longer seem as delightful as they once were. I would love it if Dairy Queen would implement a Kit Kat candy bar into the Blizzard family. Both milk chocolate and white chocolate Kit Kat Blizzards would be a reasonable addition to the blizzard family. I hope you take my comment into consideration because a Kit Kat blizzard would be delicious and i can once again become a Blizzard consumer.

Hi Corey,
Unfortunately, we can’t accept any flavor suggestions on our blog, but our product development team loves to hear new suggestions. If you’d like, you can fill out a submission agreement form, which you can find on the right hand side of this page: http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/talk-to-dq/
You would then need to send it along with your ideas to:
IDQ Consumer Relations – Suggestion Agreement
7505 Metro Blvd
PO Box 390286
Minneapolis, MN 55439-0286

Thanks for contacting DQ!

I am currently a DQ employee and the German Chocolate Blizzard is on the menu at all the stores i work at. Also, we do have a kit kat blizzard.

BRING BACK THE GERMAN CHOCOLATE BLIZZARD. I no longer get a blizzard from DQ. I remember getting one on my roadtrips into the BC interior at the Cache Creek location. I thought that only this location made them but was disappointed to find out it has been discontinued everywhere in BC Canada. :-(
