If I were a Blizzard® Treat, my mom would be the spoon that digs me, no matter what flavor I’ve chosen to be. Mother’s Day—M&M (Me and Mom) Day, as we call it—is a day when my mom and I celebrate our relationship by doing stuff together, like tandem cycling, karaoke duets and flying trapeze lessons. Then we head to a DQ® location for traditional treat time, where we reenact moments from the day and share memories over the Blizzard Treat named just for us: the M&M’S®Blizzard Treat. Happy M&M Day, moms! It’s your turn to be treated.

April 25 is a day for celebrating the real power behind your workplace. No, not you, silly. It’s Administrative Professionals’ Day! If you haven’t had time to shop for presents, don’t panic. Just take your favorite, most indispensable admins to DQ® for their favorite, most indispensable Blizzard® Treats. Use a Cookie Dough Blizzard Treat to thank your administrative assistant for setting up those meetings you love so much. Springtime. The grass is green, the air is warm and short pants are appropriate outerwear. You know what that means: baseball! You could show your love for America’s pastime by attending a “professional” game, but wouldn’t you rather be ahead of the curve? Instead of shelling out $20 to park eight blocks from the stadium, why not walk to your neighborhood diamond to check out the next generation of sluggers, pitchers and belly itchers? (I hear that 10-year-old from across the street has an arm on him.) After the ninth inning has ended and everyone’s been declared a winner, celebrate good sportsmanship at your nearest DQ® location. Sometimes I wish I were a cartoon character. Not so that I could run off cliffs without falling, or bend my body in just the right position to hide behind pencil-thin trees (although that would be pretty cool). No, I was thinking more about freshly baked pies left unguarded on windowsills. How come you never see those in real life? So disappointing. Well, friends, I’m done yearning for an animated self, because now there’s something even better in the pie-osphere. It’s the April Blizzard® of the Month, the NEW Caramel Delight Pie Blizzard Treat! The only thing better than a piping-hot pie is one that’s been turned into a delectable frozen treat, so skip the slice and head to DQ® for a cup of creamy vanilla soft serve blended with caramel, choco chunks and pie pieces, all crowned with whipped topping. Picture an explosive fireworks display! A motorcyclist tightrope-riding across Niagara Falls! Loud gasping! Exclamation marks! An excited preface intended to build anticipation! Fans, get amped and antsy all at once (“ampsy”) because for the first March in the history of my presidency, I’ve filled out a Blizzard® Treat bracket. Over the past two weeks, flavors have been facing off, vying to rule my taste buds. Yes, fans, this sounds crazy—and a lot like cheating—and technically, you’re right. But when I’m gazing at the menu trying to remember my flavor pick, all I can think about is my undying egalitarian affection for every Blizzard Treat. So I just end up treating my way through the menu list. I doubt I’m going to win my bracket, but every flavor choice I’ve made feels like a win to celebrate. And that’s something to get “ampsy” about.

Spring breaking news! A new trend is sweeping the streets, beaches and park benches of North America. First it was planking, then it was “owling” and now, I give you “Blizz- Treating.” According to the latest edition of the DQ® Dictionary, “Blizz-Treating” is defined as “sharing that sweet, sweet love by inviting a friend to DQ, buying one Blizzard® Treat for yourself and getting another for just 99 cents for your buddy.” Get to a participating DQ to give it a try, then snap a pic of the two Blizzard Treats snuggling together and post them online. Like all trends, this one has an expiration date. In Canada it’s March 25, and in the U.S. it’s March 31. Celebrate spring break by Blizz-Treating someone. You never know, they may even return the favor.

Huge news, fans! The results of the age-old question “What do women want?” are in. Women want (drumroll) … shoes? Nope. Flowers? (Yes, but) no. Dessert? Closer. Sweet treats? You’re getting warmer. Ice cream? At DQ®?! You know it!
According to a study of 27 billion on-line conversations done by netbase.com women buzzed about DQ more than twice as much as any other brand – making DQ #1 on the list. But I’m sure you aren’t surprised, because you love DQ as much as I do, which is, like, a lot. I was voted Blizz Prez because of my dessert crush on Blizzard® Treats, after all. So now I’m curious. Which DQ treats do you love the most and why?
