Wow, it’s already September. It seems like only yesterday I was glopping on sunscreen in anticipation of the season’s first hike to DQ®, nothing but sunshine and Blizzard® Treats ahead of me. Fast-forward through barbecues, beach days and more cups of soft serve than I can count, and here we are. Hate to see you go, summer of 2012. But hey, let’s end on a high note. Blizz fans, you can stretch your summer and your dollar a little further with this deal: from September 4-23*, buy one regularly priced Blizzard Treat and get a second of equal or smaller size for only 99¢—no coupon needed. Eat your favorite treat al fresco while you still can!

Saw that the Buy one, Get on for $.99 was ending on September 23rd (ad on tv) so I went to my local DQ and they had already ended the promotion the day before (September 22). I ended up leaving and going to a local ice cream shop.

As a dairy queen store manager I would like to suggest that stressing in the ads and on this page the starting and ending time of these sales. Many customers get very confused when they are told that they missed the sale because it was not made clear enough in the ads.
My daughter really wanted to buy blizzards for her and her brother. I mistakenly told her this deal was good through the end of the month. Unfortunately, she went to DQ last night (September 27) and bought two blizzards at full price. We don’t live near Dairy Queen and anytime we had driven by previously during this month, we weren’t able to stop (or weren’t hungry). Last night after Church she decided to do this for a special treat. oh well, lesson learned. I’ll pay attention next time.

I’m sorry our latest promotion was confusing. It did run for the entire month of September, though our T.V. ads in the U.S. ran from September 4th through the 23rd. Our Advertising team is aware of the confusion this promotion caused, but I want to personally thank you for reaching out to us!

Thanks for your post. I apologize for any confusion, Our BOGO Blizzard deal did run through the end of September. Though, most of our stores are independently owned and as such franchisee’s can alter the BOGO deal if they so wish. I am so sorry that you visited a location that ended this promotion early.
