A New Member of the Blizzministration?

Hi Blizz fans,

I love all the comments on Fanbook (Even if I don’t respond to them all, I read them all!). But sometimes, one of my Blizz buds writes something I think EVERYONE should see.

So check it out – Marsha left me this:

Dear Blizz Prez,

I am writing, not to take you down as President of the Fan Club, but to put my name in as a contender for the position of Vice President (or President of Vices, and blizzards are vices!!). I have many qualifications, which stand out above the other candidates, but one stands out above all others. My name! Blizz and Bliss! You see, blissful = joyful as blizzard = ecstasy!! Do you see the common elements here? The play on words? What fun we could have with this, and it could go on and on!! In addition to my being a joyful person, I have great skills in the office, being a former paralegal/office manager; I am friendly; I get along well with others; I have managerial skills, if necessary; I have college training; I am well rounded in my abilities and I love a challenge! I enjoy learning new tasks and I learn quickly. I have a “few year’s experience” at being 22 years old, so I haven’t forgotten what it is to be young and yet I also have the experiences of a much more “mature” person who can tackle whatever is put before her.

Do you see what is available to you here? You really don’t want to pass this up! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the best V.P. you can get with the neatest qualifications and the added bonus of a really cool last name that plays well with Blizz. What more could you ask for? I have it all, and more!! Not that I’m bragging, mind you. I just want you to realize that these opportunities don’t come around every day and I’m sure you don’t want to let this opportunity pass you by.

Also, as a Blizzard Afficianado, it is my firm belief that the Coconut Cream Pie flavor needs to be revisited, as I know many people who have been saying that they would like to have it as a choice again, including me. It is one of the best flavors DQ ever had, and to let it get away forever would be a great loss.

I will await your response to my letter. I look forward to your reply. Thank you for your time and attention to these matters.

Sincerely,

Marsha Bliss-Leighty

Wow! That’s a pretty strong case for Blizz VP. What do you think fans? Do you have any more questions for Marsha? What do you need from your Vice Prez?

I just saw the commercial on the new blizzard – the girl scout blizzard. You make the Father out to be an idiot and the mom is a control freak. Why can’t you give a man some dignity. The first part was cute, except for the mother’s response nagging mocking and insulting her husband, her child’s father. When he stuck the sticky note on the picture, that was great. A good finish would be for the family to be seen at DQ eating a blizzard. But no, they have to make the mom look like a control freak and the dad look like an idiot. Parenting is hard enough, we don’t really need commercials to mock our attempts at parenting. Love DQ -hate the commercial. What I need from DQ’s vp is respect for parents, men and women. Thanks, Katie Jan

Blizzard Idea…Nutter Butter cookie Blizzard!

katiejan…calm down and cheer up, i’m sure it wasn’t meant to be that way on purpose.

If you were the vice president would you dis-regard your taste for that goofy cocunut cream pie and realize that what the people really want is the DOUBLE BROWNIE BATTER BLIZZARD?!? DELICIOUS!!! butterfinger is a close second. If you need help with commercials I’m your man! I could whip you up a blizztacular script faster than you can eat a cocunut cream blizzard

I just wondered why you didn’t feature any silver colored print on the 25th anniversary cups for next year’s big celebration. The numbers “25″ on the cups, especially the one that features a large 25 on it, would show up better if it were silver. I wonder if the color silver is so much more expensive to print in such large quantities. After all, you will be using a huge number of cups in a year! Maybe that’s why you didn’t do it.

Either way, I will enjoy my Dairy Queen treats all of 2010 just like I do now. I am almost 68 years young, remember my first DQ and still enjoy them as much! Thanks for all of the treats and I intend to enjoy many, many more!

Faithfully,
Mary Lou

So I would have to agree that Ms. Bliss deserves a shot. I know when I was 20-23, I was ready to conquer the world. I worked for a great company and great leaders who were not only willing to give me a shot at 21, but to coach me along the way. I am now 29 and have since gone on to own my own business, helped start a second one with a friend and have huge aspirations that I attribute to someone seeing my passion. Ms. Bliss has successfully demonstrated her passion for being the perfect fun and unique candidate by steping up and getting noticed— (the boldness every company wants at their helm, especially marketing). You could even make this letter into a commercial with fans writing in to you, you reading the letter and and spinning your website following into a portal for TV commercial fans to log in and vote. I say give Ms.Bliss a shot! The best surprises are when you believe in someone.

I loved the S’mores Galore Parfait. Any chance we could get a S’Mores Galore Blazzard. Chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker mixed with cold, creamy vanilla soft ice cream. YUM

I TOO THINK THE NEW COMMERCIAL IS A LITTLE TOO CORNY. PUTTING A STICK EM NOTEPAD IN YOUR MOUTH AND EATING IT!!!

I THINK MARSHA WOULD MAKE A GREAT VP. SHE IS VOLUNTEERING HER SERVICES, DOES NOT WANT TO BE PAID. HAS GREAT IDEAS, I TOO LOVED THE COCONUT CREAM FLAVOR, YUM, YUM!!!

YOU NEED SOME PEE ONS TO TAKE CARE OF THE TASKS THAT YOU ARE TOO BIG IN NAME, PRESIDENT, TO TAKE CARE OF. LIKE EMPTYING TRASH, ETC.

I LOOK FORWARD TO THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BLIZZARD. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN 25 YEARS SINCE THEY FIRST CAME OUT.

I AM SO GLAD THAT THE CONSUMER HAS A CHANCE TO PICK THE FLAVOR FOR THIS GRAND EVENT.

SANDY ROSS, A NEW MEMBER OF THE BLIZZARD CLUB

would like to see a few more buy one get one free like in the beginning. I understand cutting back and hard times but you have practically eliminated them.
we would go and even splurge for a meal when those came out,but not anymore. So give it some thought..

Anybody that will bring back the Reeses Pieces Blizzard, has got my vote. I don’t understand how we lost such a wonderful flavor. I’ve even offered to bring in my own Reeses Pieces if they would make it for me. Please, please, please, bring it back for us old school fans, pleeeeeeeeease!!! Thanks, Rob

hey have you guys ever thought of like a ricekrispie bar or special k bar blizzard? just wondering because the other day i was eating both and thought that it would taste kind of good in a blizz. think it over.
thanks,
jake

I love this V.P.! However, I would like to see the Reese’s Pieces Blizzard make a comeback. Marsha sounds like she would make a great V.P. and has great qualifications! She is well educated, has some awesome experience, and sounds like a really cool person! Not only that, but she loves Blizzards!! She has a great name; a very unique take on the Blizzard, to be sure! And as for Katiejan’s comments on the commercials, Marsha would never make that kind of mistake. She’s too smart, and probably a great parent in her own right! I don’t think she’d mock parenting if she knew how much effort parents put into it, and I’m sure she has a lot of respect for parents who take that responsibility as seriously as Katiejan seems to. Thanks, Amy

Get rid of Oreo Blizzard — it’s too much like MacDonalds Oreo Mcflurry, direct competition from the big M at half the price.

My all time favourite blizzard was the peanutbutter crunch I think it was called. It was peanut butter and oreo cookie crumbs. I think I kept the DQ in Red Deer in business while I went to college buying that blizzard. My friend and I would go at least once a week if not twice for one. I wish it would come back. We even went for a blizzard in what was pretty much a blizzard once! That was dedication ! lol

I would love the Mocha Chip Blizzard! My husband likes the banana split blizzard without chocolate due to allergies, however it is a bit runny due to having to substitue more pinapple for the chocolate. Due to his allergies he would absolutely love to see the Reese”s Pieces Blizzard come back. He can eat that Blizzard, and would love to be able to have it. Thanks for considering…reintroducing it. Thanks, Sue & Roger

I would LOVE to see a return of the Reece’s Pieces Blizzard!!!! It was always my favourite and nothing available now even compares to it.

I have been eating Blizzards since they came out 24 years ago. They are awesome, but one thing, how come they arent as thick as they used to be. They used to pass them to you upside down. Maybe it is our store that is lacking, but it sure would be nice to have it like they used to be. And I agree with the 2 for 1 coupons maybe once in awhile…

i agree about the coupons, and i think that the
blizards are great and should NOT be oltred or chainged in any shape or form! :)

My sister and I have always favored the Pecan Cluster Blizzard (like Turtle). The DQ on Bechtle in Springfield, Ohio still makes them, and they make the absolute BEST!

How about either Reese’s pieces or peanut butter cup with S’mores?……Heath with pretzel bits?…….Pumpkin pie with S’mores?……Snickers with bananas?

I agree with Coconut Cream Pie coming Back…it was better than The Banana Cream Pie, which you always have.

Choc Chip Cookie Dough is ok, but gets boring…How about a different type of Cookie Flavor…Peanut Butter perhaps?

How about a Wild Berry mix Blizzard?

And, yes to more coupons…sometimes you send emails out just to announce the Blizzard of the month, and we can get that info. from watching TV.

Please bring back the Yukon Cruncher blizzard with rice krispie treats! Someone else had mentioned a rice krispie treat blizzard too- please bring it back!

What is in the mocha truffle blizzard?

Thanks,

Amanda

PUMPKIN PIE & Coconut Cream Pie should be around ALL year!! And, I agree with everyone about the BOGO coupons coming out more often! My friends and I LOVE going to DQ and treating each other to FREE 16oz. Blizzards!! (Or, I treat myself to a free one…) (:-D

My grandson, who is a Cub Scout…was wondering why DQ has not given the Boy Scouts a flavor of the month. I figured it was because only the girls sell cookies and boys sell popcorn, chocolate coverd pretzels and trail mix.

>So he came up with a chocolate covered pretzil bizzard…and a trail mix blizzard that includes mix nuts and chocolate pretzel bits..or chocolate coated candies. What do you think?

Thank you for all your delicious blizzards. :)

Hey everyone!
I wish DQ would make a s’mores blizzard! we could have marshmallow topping, cho chunks, nd some graham crackers all mixed together! we do you guys think? Awesome!
