I tried to access the “buy one–get one for $1″. The prompt said that a promo code was not required, but I was unable to advance to another screen without entering a promo code. Where is the promo code?

As a Canadian Blizzard fan, I’m often excited to stop by my local DQ and check out what new and exciting blizzard flavor is on offer through the Blizzard of the month feature.

I’m sure you can understand my massive disappointment at discovering the latest Blizzard of the month is Oreo.

Oreo? Seriously?
Now don’t get me wrong, I like Oreo, but it’s a terribly boring Blizzard of the month flavor. It’s available all the time and the first Blizzard listed on the menu, and it even serves as the base of 3 other Blizzards on the regular menu. More puzzling is why it would be chosen to follow up July’s excellent Oreo Brownie Earthquake Blizzard. Why would I be motivated to rush out to get a plain old Oreo Blizzard after having the same thing enhanced with brownie, fudge and marshmallow pieces?

The decision to make Oreo the August Blizzard of the month smacks of laziness and failure of imagination by DQ Canada. I really think you’ve missed an opportunity to deliver a new and exciting Blizzard for the last month of summer, such as the US only Pecan Pie Blizzard.

Brenda, I am sorry you ran into troubles with your registration! The promo code should not be a factor at all in your registration unless you have one. I miss the pecan pie blizzard already. its was one of the best blizzards i’ve ever seen. anyway it can become a permanent resident at DQ?

Also bummed about missing out on the pecan flavor and being stuck with oreo as a “special” flavor.
Why? Oh why are you so sweet on the south of the border?

I joined the fan club months ago, the DQ website says get 6 buy one get ones annually, but have only ever gotten a coupon once, which was when I signed up. What’s up w/that?

I second disappointment’s feelings! Here in Canada I have been excitedly watching the American commercials for the Pecan Pie Blizzard. I even went to check out Dairy Queen’s Facebook page to find out when it would be coming to Canada. While they didn’t provide a specific date they said “not to worry it would be there soon.” So I was excited to check what the Blizzard of the month would be for August…plain oreo??? That’s a let down.

I agree with the previous post. I too am very disappointed to find that the August blizzard of the month is plain Oreo. I was hoping for something not Oreo related as lately we’ve had mint Oreo (also a regular menu item), strawberry golden Oreo, Oreo brownie earthquake, and now just plain Oreo as the blizzards of the month. There is a serious Oreo trend happening in Canada. I don’t quite understand why the Pecan Pie was only in the States in July, I guess I should have made a trip south of the border.
As a former DQ employee I have first hand experience of just how many new flavour combinations can be made, and feel like your product development team fell back on a reliable standard, as great as Oreo is, rather than pushing the envelope.
I can’t wait to see what September brings, hopefully something a little more inventive:)

You received a “Buy One, Get One” Blizzard coupon for becoming a member (and will each year in the future on the anniversary of your becoming a member), another for your birthday, and another four coupons throughout the year. These last four coupons are generally sent out in January, February, November, and December.

Please bring back the pecan pie blizzard. I tasted the cake and loved it. I went to get the pecan pie blizzard today and no longer able to. I actually walked out without getting anything…was so disappointed and the oreo blizzard does not sound appealing at all-BORING!!!

Last night i was craving for a blizzard.i told my daughter to pick something with pecans and Choc,
she brought me home the turtle pecan cluster.it was so yummy!!

I had to have another on my way home from wk i got another one. this time i was so disappointed. it had no pecans and no choc. I asked the server why it had no choc?? she replied that’s the way it should be.

why is it that DQ doesnt make their blizzards the same way? just because they were different stores, shouldnt they have the same recipe on how to make them.

I will never go to DQ again!!

Oreo is a great flavour, but still boring. For Blizzard of the Month’s the flavours have to be really out there make people want to try them, because they’re so different from the regular menu. If the Blizzard of the Month is Oreo, then people will most likely not feel the need to try it since he probably already have. I’m expecting the blizzard sales to drop this month, especially since I’m guessing most of the sales come from the Blizzard of the Month. It’s August, a hot month, and sales could’ve had so much potential, but not anymore. Echoing what everyone else said, what a letdown.

Are you going to offer the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard year round? PLEASE!!!!

I am sorry, Tammy! As a fellow Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Fan, I understand your request. This is a seasonal flavor, and will be the Blizzard of the Month in October. Some locations carry the flavor longer and into November.

It is such a favorite for my whole family and we looked forward to it being offered this summer. I went into my local DQ to ask when they will offer it, and they have no idea what I am even talking about! When I was in again in July, the clerk said it would be August’s ‘flavor of the month’ so we were all excited. To no avail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooo disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So……no DQ for us (We’re a family of 8) again until it’s on the menu!

I am very disappointed. I wanted to try the strwberry golden oreo blizzard, but when it first came out, most of the DQ didnt have the golden oreo. Then when i found one that did, it was everything that i thought it would be.. Really, really good, fell in love with each bite like it was the first bite..But now i went back and because it was just the blizzard of the month, it is not on the DQ menu, can you please make it permanent in the DQ menu..

Bonnie, I am sorry! There are no current plans for the return of the Cotton Candy Blizzard, and I am so sorry an employee of a DQ store told you that it would be returning this year. THank you for letting us know how much you and your family love this flavor. I will ensure our product development team is aware of your comments.

Cymetria, I am so sorry! the Strawberry Golden Oreo Blizzard was a limited time offering as the Blizzard of the Month in June. I am glad you found a location that still had the product so you could try it. DQ stores and restaurants will have the product available as long as they have the ingredients to do so.

Please make the blizzards of the months like the strawberry golden Oreo , caramel brownie & the Oreo brownie earthquake blizzard on the permanent list like the Oreo cheesequake , chocolate xtreme , & strawberry cheesequake for I don’t want those blizzards to die out like the brownie batter blizzard so please make them permanent

Just wanted to say that I think the series of recent Dairy Queen commercials with the family are some of the worst commercials that I have ever seen. They have made me reticent to every go into a Dairy Queen again; something I didn’t actually think that a commercial could do.

The Cotton Candy Blizzard was the BEST! DQ needs to bring it back!

Why do some DQ locations start the next month’s Blizzard before the end of the current month? Two year’s in a row, one of the local DQ’s stopped the pumpkin pie Blizzard on the last Monday of October, losing almost a week of pumpkin pie goodness!

So wishing, like everyone else, that the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard was year round, and that the Coconut Cream Pie would come back. These were the 2 best! We don’t seem to stop as much for blizzards until October.. but then we sure make up for it!

Me and my mom are patiently waiting for the cotton candy blizzard to return. It was the only time we get DQ and we got one daily. Please bring it back soon.

I agree with Caroline, if there is any possible way that you could bring the cotton candy blizzard back, that would be AMAZING!!!!!!!

Have you changed your mind yet about bringing back the Cotton Candy Blizzard? Instead of doing it as a flavor of the month, how about just offering it ALL THE TIME!

The Pecan Pie Blizzard is still my favorite of all time. Every time I go to a DQ I ask if they can make it, and it’s always a no. Can you please bring it back or make it permanent? I always get Georgia Mud Fudge now, which I have no complaints, but would love to see that Pecan Pie come back!!!

So sorry that the Pecan Pie Blizzard is unavailable. One option may be to request a Blizzard with pecans, pie pieces and caramel topping as a substitute for the special sauce that was used for Pecan Pie Blizzards, but is no longer available. I think the Brownie Batter should always be on the menu. I also believe a Blizzard called the “Chocolate Extreme” shouldn’t start with Vanilla ANYTHING. Sometimes I get those things and they are still all vanilla at the top!
