There’s a reason February’s sticking around an extra day this year. Scratch that––two reasons. Travel with me, if you will, to a land called “America,” where creamy vanilla soft serve is lovingly blended with sweet cherries and choco chunks, a land where “love” is more than just a word found in a greeting card. It’s also a word found within the name of their February Blizzard®of the Month: the Choco Cherry Love Blizzard Treat!
Then we travel north, where double fudge brownie batter and real fudge brownie pieces blend harmoniously with creamy vanilla soft serve. It’s a land called “Canada,” a land filled with 29 days of equal opportunity for all to taste the Brownie Batter Blizzard Treat!

It was summer. I was gardening. It was hot. I took a sip of soda and felt something sharp on my lip. Thinking I had cut myself on the soda can somehow, I quickly pulled it away to discover I still felt the sting… of a bee… attached to my lower lip. I shooed it off and in a matter of minutes my kisser grew twice its size. My appearance didn’t dissuade me from heading to the mall, however, in order to nurse my wound with an OREO Blizzard®Treat. And I survived. Oh yeah, did I mention that I also managed to fall off a roof that day as well? Survived that too. Landed on my feet. NBD. But maybe you can top it. What’s your freaky Friday story?

Winter builds character––at least that’s what I’ve heard. This winter, however, has been unseasonably mild in my neck of the woods (just a figure of speech—I don’t, um, actually live in the woods). So naturally, I’m a little torn. On the one hand, I’m missing out on the opportunity to somehow become a better person by shoveling snow and scraping ice, but on the other, my commute to the local DQ Grill & Chill® has been that much shorter. Come to think of it, there’s plenty of shoveling and scraping involved when I’m finishing off a Blizzard®Treat. Okay, I’m sold. Best of both worlds it is!

It’s the third day of a new year and things are already looking up. I’m seeing things I’ve never seen before. Like, you ever notice how much a strawberry looks like a heart? Must be that they’re grown to be loved. And what better way to demonstrate that love than by blending them together with real chunks of rich cheesecake and creamy vanilla soft serve: the Strawberry CheeseQuake®Blizzard Treat! Nostalgia is a thing of the past. I’m completely prepared to live in the moment… all 31 days of it.

If you’re like me, you’re still trying to figure out how to spend all those DQ®gift cards you received from your friends, family and postal workers over the weekend (surely, you exchange gifts with your postal worker). Might I suggest the following Blizzard Treat tasting schedule?
MONDAY: something with coffee
TUESDAY: something fruity
WEDNESDAY: something nutty
THURSDAY: something with cookies
FRIDAY: something chocolaty
SATURDAY: something with a candy bar
SUNDAY: ask an employee to surprise you
Happy New Year, everybody!
May your 2012 have you doing cartwheels!

Hey fans, it’s a busy time of year. Thought I’d treat you to a little holiday advice over the next few weeks. That way, you can just relax by the fire with your laptop, browsing Blizzard® Treat flavors on DQ.com (Why? How do you spend the holidays?). See, here’s tip #1: start your New Year’s resolution early, like… tomorrow. That way, you’ve got a grace period of about a month, so you don’t really have to feel bad ‘cause it’s not even 2012. Then you can greet the New Year with an “OK, for realsies now.” Or just a “Meh,” if you come to find that drinking your Blizzard Treats through a straw is harder than it looks and maybe you’ll just stick to your faithful red spoon after all.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty excited about this one. Of course, that seems to be a recurring theme in my posts. But each Blizzard Treat is special––just like every snowflake is special. And if snowflakes were made from this treat, I’d spend my entire December trying to catch them on my tongue. Peppermint candy and choco chunks blended with creamy vanilla soft serve make up this delicious holiday offering, the Candy Cane Chill™ Blizzard Treat. May each bite be merry and bright!
There are a lot of celebrity fragrances released around the holidays. I mean, A LOT. Don’t get me wrong, I love smelling famous as much as anyone, but it got me thinking that maybe now’s the time to cash in. I even have an idea for a television commercial.
It’s filmed in black and white (of course). We see a shot of the ocean, a shot of a galloping horse, and a shot of me running through a field in slow motion, cape billowing in the breeze. There’s the flash of a camera and another shot of the horse. We slowly pan across my eyes and then cut back to the horse. Suddenly, a blindfolded man approaches me on a giraffe. There’s a close-up on my mouth as I mutter some words in French and the subtitles reveal, “It appears that you could use a treat.” The man on the giraffe releases a single white dove into the sky, and we hear an authoritative, yet gentle voice intone as we close on the product shot:
“Introducing a delicious new fragrance from the Blizz Prez: Eau de Cookie Dough.”
I mean, we could always call it something else. What do you think? What would you call my Blizz fragrance?

OK, fans. I’m gonna make this short. I’m gonna make this sweet. It’s Thanksgiving time in America, and while so much of the nation is concerned with football and parades, I know what’s really important: giving thanks. How do I know this? I took the last part of the word “Thanksgiving” and simply placed it in front of the first part (I see those light bulbs flickering). So tell me, which Blizzard® Treat are you most thankful for?
