So, granted, graduating is a big deal. But, you know what else is a big deal? Our soft serve frozen cakes. Some say they’ve gotten many a senior over the last hump. OK, nobody actually said that but it seems reasonable.
Choose from a Blizzard® Cake (yes Blizzard cakes!) or our famous soft serve with the awesome fudge crunch center. Or, you can easily design your graduate a personalized cake with your own message like, “Go Get a Job Now and Move Out of Your Parents Basement” or maybe something sweeter? I’ll leave that up to you.
OK – not totally sure what that means other than every time I look outside and see the sun peeking through the clouds and smell a freshly grilled burger or a Strawberry Cheesequake®Blizzard® Treat I think of summer. The kind of lazy summer days where you hang out at the park, toss a ball around, walk down to the DQ® store and grab a Blizzard® Treat. Man, I love those lazy days full of good times. What’s your favorite summer tradition?
The Blizzard® of the Month: Yummy Wrapped Inside Amazing Wrapped Inside Choco Goodness. Also known as the Choco Peanut Butter Brownie Blizzard Treat. I gotta say, this one’s hard to beat. Just when you’re like, “Hey that’s Peanut Butter” you get hit with “YES, that’s a chewy brownie situation!” then whammo comes the choco chunks. That’s what I call the triple threat soft serve style. It’s also what I call the Blizzard of the Month for May because I really, really like May.

Doesn’t matter. Tomorrow is International Workers Day. I don’t actually know what that means, but I know that since I’m a “worker” I will be treating myself to something extra special. After all, you know that DQ® locations will be announcing a new Blizzard® Treat of the month tomorrow, and according to my secret sources, it’s a new flavor called the Choco Peanut Butter Brownie Blizzard Treat.
I’ll pause so you can take that in…
You good? Okay, so it’s chewy brownie pieces, choco chunks and smooth peanut butter all brought together into happily ever after by creamy vanilla soft serve. Yes. Happy International Worker’s Day to me! And you, but mostly me because Blizz Prez is a very hard job. I mean, constantly trying new, delicious Blizzard Treat flavors every time they come out is tough work. You have no idea. I’m serious. Anyway, how many hours until it’s tomorrow? I’m ready to celebrate.

America has favorites. One is baseball and the other is Dairy Queen® Treats. Perhaps it’s because DQ® stores have long been the official unofficial place for post game gatherings. I love walking into my DQ store this time of year and finding a baseball team huddled around a table, still in their grass-stained uniforms, rehashing the latest win or loss over Blizzard® Treats, Dip Cones, sundaes and Chicken Strip Baskets. Sure, keeping up with the professional teams is fun, but I much prefer the thrill of seeing local legends in the making and hearing about the 12-year-old with the homerun streak and the new softball pitcher with the killer windmill. Some people love spring for the flowers, but I love it for the baseball…and the Blizzard Treats, always the Blizzard Treats.

Never. Now that spring is in swing and the day of pranks is past, let us take a moment to pause, reflect, recharge, and then totally freak out about my newest favorite thing: The Choco Covered Pretzel with Peanut Butter Blizzard® Treat. The choco covered pretzel pieces, peanut butter and choco chunks blend together in creamy vanilla soft serve to create what I like to call the perfect storm of flavors. It’s sweet, salty, creamy, high-five worthy, upside down goodness. Think of it as delicious couples therapy for your sweet tooth and your salt tooth, which will never fight again.

Let’s just say, in an alternate world, we held some sort of Blizzard® Treat tournament every March? And brackets were made, and the eyes of DQ® fans everywhere were glued to every matchup? And your coworkers, friends and family spent their free time (and work time) making predictions on who would win? Where would you place your confidence? Which Blizzard Treat would take it all? And how many Blizzard Treats would your favorite Blizz Prez have to go through in order to reach a nonbiased, impartial decision?

Here’s a fun game I like to play each year on St. Patty’s Day. I’ll order a Blizzard® Treat at my local DQ® store, but ask the employee behind the counter to surprise me with the flavor. And every year, without exception, they never disappoint, returning with something delicious in hand. Call it luck, if you like, but I’ve always been good at playing the odds. It’s more about making really safe bets. How about you? Find any recent Blizzard Treat combinations as of late that have caused you to “thank your lucky stars”?
