Julie, Scott & Linda, While we know there were a number of products that were similar to Blizzards offered throughout the Dairy Queen system before 1985 (even a super thick shake offered during the 1950s that was called the Blizzard), we are celebrating the official system launch of the product. At that time the honors went to Sam Temperato of the Dairy Queen of Saint Louis group in Missouri as the driving force behind introducing the Blizzard to the entire Dairy Queen system. I am not surprised that you remember the product and I hope this helps!

Why are you saying the blizzard is 25 years old when it clearly isnt? My parents owned a DQ in Pittsburgh in the 60's and 70's and we made Blizzards all the time.

You are now celebrating the 25th birthday of the Blizzard. I worked at a Dairy Queen in 1960 and the Blizzard was one of the menu items at that time. I personally made and sold many Blizzards over 50 years ago. Why are you saying that the Blizzard is only 25 years old? Could the Blizzard be of the female gender?
