Matt, the story said the accident was many years ago. 30 years ago,when I was 8, a dollar could buy a hot dog and a cone at Dairy Queen. And, back then, there were no Blizzards.

What a lovely story this was. just goes to show that it doesn’t take much of your time and money to show a kindness and make someones day a little bit more special. Wish Selma, Alabama had a DQ. We have to depend on the Sonic here for our cones!

In the world today it is good to see someone who cares. This made me feel like there are people out there who think of others instead of just themselves. I love dairy queen and the people that work there. thanks for giving us the best ice cream

Just a 1 dollar coupon and it was the owner? If he really wanted to make his FRIEND feel better he should have just given him a free coupon to any combo on the menu. Or a coupon for any sized blizzard.

I was going through a difficult divorce with 3 special needs children ages 4,3, & 1. We moved out of our home town to a town with a Dairy Queen. When the weather became nice I found a way to put all three kids onto my bike with kid seats and pedal around town with them for my exercise and their entertainment. I became thirsty so we pedaled up to the DQ drive thru. The owner was surprised to find a mom and 3 small children on the bike at the window. Each child received a extra small cone and I purchased a slush. I pedaled home with the kids enjoying the cones. This became a ritual and the owner gave the kids a cone each time we pedaled in. I got my exercise and we made a new friend in a new town. My kids are grown now and we moved out of the town a long time ago….But they still remember the bike ride and the ice cream. The DQ is still there, under new management but still serving great ice cream and other goodies. Each time we drive by I am reminded of good memories during a difficult time. Thanks Dairy Queen!

Hi, my friend is dying of stage 4 lung cancer. And we gave her a benefit to send her on her last cruise and recently i won a contest that gave me $500 food gift card.And I blessed her with that so she can have food. I have also been able to get her to see some concerts for free. And she went to her first red sox game. would love to send her to see Rascal Flatts but so far no word on that one. I am a cake decorator from my home so i don’t have a full time job to help her out with everything but my husband and I try our best.

What a wonderful way to put a smile on someones face–specially if they are not feeling well. Everyone loves ice cream!!!
