I wonder how many of you were like me the morning after the time change—waking up, wondering why it was still dark, and then having it dawn on me that I get an extra hour of daylight this evening. Now that’s a trade off I’ll take every day! A chance to get in a complete round of golf, take a walk around town, or maybe, just maybe, start the task of trying to get my yard cleaned up from all the wintry weather we experienced over the past few months.

However, the real excitement of spring for me is March Madness! I know there are many of you out there following your favorite team as well. Over the next of couple weeks we will be busy trying to finish our work so we can rush home to catch all the action. It truly will be “madness.”  Who can eat at a time like this?

Our restaurants have been working hard to prepare for this big promotion. Just recently I’ve been on the road helping to introduce a fantastic new training program all across Virginia, and the rest of the American Dairy Queen Corporation team has been doing the same across the country. This new training program has integrated many of the successful components of our past in-store training program, but with some enhanced options to make it much more fun and informative for our crews. It has been received very well across Virginia, and I know we’ve been using the new program to rededicate our restaurants to our core values of quality, service and cleanliness.

So, as  the madness plays out over the next few weeks, I hope your favorite team advances deep into the tournament. And as you’re enjoying the games, working out in the yard, taking a walk around your town or just enjoying the onset of spring, I would encourage you to stop by your neighborhood DQ location for a Double Cheeseburger or the Blizzard of the Month and treat yourself to a winning combination!
