You’re Invited!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and you’re looking forward to a great 2010! The start of a new year is always exciting. It gives us a chance to reflect upon our past accomplishments and plan toward the future. And we are no different as a business. Every DQ® location across North America is busy in these colder months taking care of day-to-day business and planning for another terrific DQ season. And as we make our plans for this New Year, we want to offer you the opportunity to join us. Yes, we want to invite you to consider joining our DQ team.
You’ve read some of the other “blog” articles about some of our famous alumni. Now we cannot guarantee you’ll become the latest, greatest country music star or television personality. However, we can promise you a rewarding experience as you learn how to blend a world-famous Blizzard® treat, become an expert cake decorator, or be taught how to grill the best burgers in your town. All of these exciting opportunities are available right down the street at the DQ store in your local community.
We have some of the best owner / operators you could ever want to work for in the quick-service restaurant business. And DQ stores are obviously, from the testimonials of several celebrities, a great first job for your son or daughter. Many of the local DQ stores around the country are run by families who will take special care of those young employees and help teach them about the responsibilities of holding down a job. Many young people don’t know what it takes to be responsible in managing the day-to-day challenges of being a part of a family, going to school and maintaining a job. A job in a DQ store is a great first step in their maturation process and becoming responsible young adults. All three of my kids have worked at a local DQ store throughout their high school and college days. They made friends, and learned teamwork, the value of a dollar and that others depended upon them to show up on time and be ready to go to work. It gave them a solid personal foundation and helped them develop a good work ethic.
But the opportunities are not just limited to young people. Walk into any DQ locationand you’ll see people of all ages and nationalities sharing the same desire to grow and prosper. Almost every DQ store has the availability of flexible shifts, schedules, or even exciting career opportunities. Maybe you’ve been a stay-at-home mom or dad, but now the kids are in school and you’re looking for something to do during the school day. Perhaps you’ve recently relocated and are looking for some part-time work to supplement your spouse’s income. Or maybe you’ve worked in an industry that has recently downsized and you’re looking to change careers. Regardless of the reason, I would strongly encourage you to visit your neighborhood DQ store and discover what opportunities are potentially available for you in your local area. Just tell them Martina McBride recommended DQ to you!

Love DQ. Great on a cold or rainy Day. Go and et some,
I blended, decorated, and dipped the dillys for 5 years thru HS & College. I made some of my best friends @ DQ and still go in a visit whenever I’m in town. Wish there was one closer to my house now… oh well… maybe i should open my own?? lol!
I have worked at the DQ in my town for almost a year now, they are the best people I have ever worked for Ellen and Bart do there best to make you feel like part of the family and go out of there way to make sure you get the shifts you can work. If you want a job where you can make friends or so that your kids can learn good work ethic you should consider DQ!
I love the cotton candy blizzard. But no one has it anymore. can you make blizzard’s (not fruit) that do not contain chocolate.
I love DQ!
I am sorry! The Cotton Candy Blizzard has been discontinued, and I haven’t heard of any plans to bring it back. Yes, absolutely you can order Blizzards that don’t have fruit or chocolate in them. Just ask the staff at your local DQ restaurant if they would make a special one for you. We have caramel topping, we have CheeseQuake pieces, and we have pie pieces. Many DQ restaurants carry Marshmallow and Peanut Butter toppings too. Ask at your local restaurant!
I love DQ. In fact, I met my boyfriend there. He bought me a Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard. And like this delicious treat, we are a match made in heaven.
