The DQ® Buster Bar® – Hands Down Favorite!
Posted by Carolyn K under Dairy Queen,Eats & Treats on
This summer my husband and I went to a pool party at our friends’ house. Every one was to bring a dish to pass – and we’d been working hard in the yard all weekend. No time to prepare anything. So my husband said, “Hey! Let’s take some DQ® treats.” Well, you can imagine I loved the idea too; it was easy and DQ does all the work. We picked up a couple boxes of Dilly Bars, some no-sugar added Fudge Bars, and a box of Buster Bars.
Now, I know, everyone likes DQ treats – but I was completely unprepared for the response we got to the Buster Bars. It was the hands down favorite. “Everybody loves Buster Bars.” “I’ll have a Buster Bar – they’re the best.” “Buster Bars? I love Buster Bars!”
I usually take Dilly Bars when I bring a box of DQ treats… next time, I’m bringing the Buster Bars.

buster bars are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can we get a DQ in our area? I worked in a DQ when I was young and have loved the food all my life. All the stores in our area are gone. I’d like to see about bring it back. The demand is here if the store is around here. We have 2 that I know of and they aren’t convenient.
Buster Bar is the all time best dessert!!!!!!
Ever since my boys were little (now they’re 34 & 35)
the biggest treat for them (us all, really!) were Buster Bars! We had a DQ 2 blocks away and it became ritual that we topped off the week with Buster Bars. Now, we compare every treat to Buster Bars, and you’re right…it’s always been Buster Bars, hands down as far as we’re concerned! We loves us some BB’s!
I also LOVE the buster bars , i keep buster bars & dilly bars in the freezer!!! YUM!!!YUM!!!
You always know there good where I live, because we make them fresh
I love making Buster Bars!
And Buster Bar Blizzards are my favorite blizzard!
Has anyone over at DQ thought of adding an additional Pumpkin Pie Blizzard minus the Pie Crust portion and add cheese cake then call it the Pumpkin Pie Cheese Quake?
Personnely I would love the Pumpkin Pie Cheese Quake Blizzard better just like I love all the Cheese Quake Blizzards.
At the moment my favorite is the Oreo Cheese Quake Blizzard.
Maybe, think about adding cheese cake other Blizzards for us Cheese Cake-o-holics.

omgz dey gud!
Hi, Michael! We are always looking at new ways to combine products already in DQ stores and restaurants. Many DQ stores and restaurants honor special requests for products – particularly Blizzard Flavor Treats. Please know there may be a small fee for additional flavorings or special requests. Check with your local DQ and see if they will make this flavor for you.
Hi, Chris! We first need someone who is interested in opening and operating a DQ store or restaurant. If you know of anyone, or if you are interested yourself, please visit us at http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/own-a-dq/ for more information..
Buster Bars … I hadn’t had one in years and years until the other day. We stopped and bought a bag of 6. I was really disappointed. I remember they had a layer of fudge on top with nuts, and a layer of fudge in the middle and at the bottom. The ones we got had barely any fudge anywhere! I’m not sure if all DQ’s have done this to save money, or if our local one just don’t know how to make them right. Boooo I want fudge in them!
So sorry to hear of your disappointment with the Buster Bars you received! I would recommend getting in touch with the management of the store you visited or you may send your comments to http://tiny.cc/3uv19 and we will forward them for you. Thanks!
I have a debate going on in my house regarding the DQ Buster Bar. The shape of the Buster Bar is different now than it was when i was little. I am 45years old now. The shape before was like a paddle almost, with the nuts and fudge on one side only and then dipped in chocolate. It had a tongue depressor type stick which I believe it still has. Can anyone remember this? Please respond.
Hi Heather, You’re partially right. The product you’re describing used to be offered at various Dairy Queen restaurants and it was called the Fudge Nut Bar. It was similar to the Buster Bar, but made in the shape of the Dilly Bar. That product has been discontinued and is no longer available in the Dairy Queen system. Hope that helps!
Heather, that’s how they come at the DQ I frequently visit. They don’t have buster bars on their menu though, just fudge nut bars so maybe that’s what I’m getting although the small bag it comes in says buster bar. I remember they used to be cone shaped at other DQ’s, is this how others are buying them still?
