There is no way the Artic Rush and the Mr Misty. I have had artic rushes at a few locations and it is mostly water with a little ice. Only the seasonal DQ has the old school machine and it tastes right. You are trying to hard to change what works.

I was talking to a client today who had never heard of the Mister Misty…I remember the brain freeze I would get from the grape and blueberry as a kid! Yummy!

I actually bought one of the original Mr Misty machines from a DQ that went out of business years ago. I just sold it online for $300 and it was in pristine shape. I should have kept it, but it was just taking up space.

Marsha and Jeff — actually there were no changes made to the product other than the name change and some added flavors when we moved from “Mr. Misty” to “Arctic Rush”. That said what you may be noticing is a difference in the ice in your drinks, and there may be a variance from store to store in that aspect. Again that hasn’t changed, as we had a varience when the product was named Mr. Misty. It has to do with differences in freezers and the ice those freezers produce. I hope this helps!

I agree with Jeff. I had an Arctic Rush today and the texture was nowhere near a Mr. Misty. It was like little ice balls rather than a smooth slushy texture. it was good, but not as good as a Misty!

@ Robert. Mr. Misty and Arctic Rush are NOT the same product. There is still one DQ here in Cedar Rapids that has the original Mr. Misty. All the others have the Arctic Rush and there is a HUGE difference in the texture and flavors. I asked the owner of the one store and they said they had refused to switch to the new machines for the Arctic Rush and chose to keep the original Misty.
