Dairy Queen® “Snowball” Dessert Cups?

Posted by JT under Throwback Thursday on

Here at the Dairy Queen® corporate headquarters, we keep a permanent archive of historical photographs, uniforms, advertisements and other fun things. As I was poking around one day recently, I stumbled across an item I’ve never seen before, circa 1976:

Do any of our DQ® blog readers remember these?

Ugh! Those look great! Or terrible! Seems they should be served with a wooden stick? What was the name of the push-up with the curl on top… a Jet? I’ve seen a photo of that treat somewheres…

I was in the DQ system for many years but these are new to me. I just love the Throwback Thursdays. I am a total DQ history buff and these blasts from the past are right up my alley.

I hope you will share the “Gooney Bird Sundae.” That was before my time, but it sure looks fun. If I remember correctly you can find some info on it in the “The Cone With The Curl On Top” history book.

here in Delta, CO, our local DQ is owned by a great family. They are extremely friendly and nice to all their customers. We try to visit them often. Our favorite treats are probably blizzards and anything with brownies!
